I think it's time for Obie to find a shorter rotation and stick with it. The shooters can't get any rhythm against a decent defensive effort, and it's not like a lot of their shooters have much else to contribute.

Speaking of defense, Andre Owens should be playing. He's the only player on that 2nd unit that can even spell the word.

Either Diener or Rush should be nailed to the bench, and if Daniels ever puts himself back together, both of them should.

Shawne Williams kinda has to play because they want to develop the kid, but he should never be allowed anywhere near a player that can score at all. If anything, they should go to a zone when he's in the game.

Not sure what is going on with JO, if he's slumping or his legs just aren't going with him on his jumper anymore, but he needs to think about scoring. The motion offense is a terrible fit around him, because he just isn't a good passer, and it's clearly distracting to his offensive game. Score, rebound, block shots. That should be his only role. He isn't a facilitator.

Dun was bad, Tins was bad, JO was bad, Diener was awful, Murphy was bad, Shawne was awful.

Danny and Foster were the only people who played well, but no one wanted to give Danny shots as he only took the 4th most amount of shots of any Pacer.

We are not as good as they are. (Duh.)

But we didn't get manhandled. If we had some sort of offensive go to guy, we could have competed decently. We don't have that guy. JO is not that guy. Granger can hit from outside, but he can't create much.

    We need a trade.

KG, Allen, and Pierce are all on the floor, and we've got guys biting on a James Posey pump fake for 3?

    That's just stupid.

We had a legitimate shot at winning this one tonight, despite some lackluster play from different guys. Still, there were a lot of stupid decisions made on both ends of the court.

I think the only timeout that was called was the one after Ray Allen made that driving layup with a minute and a half to go. There's putting trust in your players and there's letting them make their own dumb decisions over and over (coughjamaalcough). Timeouts aren't just breaks; they symbolize a part of the game that the coach has control of. People may think that Rick used these too often or that this team won't listen in a huddle, but cmon. The coach has got to remind his players, especially the younger or more knuckleheaded ones (coughjamaalcough) what's going on in the game and what they are looking for on both sides of the floor. IOW, I'm questioning JOB's in-game, down-the-stretch tactics.

This loss is understandable. The previous three were collapses. I hope the team has the ability to bounce back. They look beat down.

If this keeps up, JO will demand one by mid-December. Unfortunately, with the way he's been playing recently, his trade value has gone down. That's probably due to his knee injury, but still.

No doubt, this team is bad. The first three games were encouraging, but it appears we have come crashing back down to Earth. It really is time to start rebuilding. Larry and Donnie need to stop fooling themselves.

What I saw here was a team with really bad fundamental basketball skills.

    Poor passes
    Poor rebounding
    poor defensive slides
    poor shot selection

There is no one on this team that has leadership skills. I'll give JOB a pass until game 20. The offense he wants them to play demands that they run up and down the floor and no get stuck watching.

    It isn't working...so far....

    Dale Davis anyone?

I think for the sake of his trade value, we need to sit JO, and hope and pray that he phsyically can improve. Because right now - no team is going to ake him

Danny was having a good game but he did not step up or was not allowed to step up to carry us.

Don't be fooled by the score - the Celts always had us on check.

Blame the loss on JT for igniting Pierce...

I think the poor fundamentals are a big issue mainly because Obie just throws random lineup combinations out there. There just isn't any chemistry and the talent level isn't able to compensate.

The last 5 minutes were silly. Just one miscommunication after another leading to a turnover.

Then Players got scared to run the offense, and just opted to go 1 on 1, and that didn't work.

You know what? It's just not gonna work.

This team is terribly-assembled. I think JOB will get more out of them than Rick would have, but that doesn't change the fact that we just don't have a very good group of basketball players.

It reminds me () of the Mike Davis era. MD ran his CT3 offense, but he kept trying to force non-shooters into the system. It didn't work there, and it won't work here. We need SHOOTERS. So far, Diener and Rush have been miserable failures, and any offense that lets Tinsley shoot 12 times a game is a failure out of the gate.

    In other words...

Danny scored a lot of points, but that was mostly on threes. Last I checked, he constantly gets railed on in here because he can't hit the three consistently.

I guess the question is, he got his points, but is how he got them is a different matter?

Cambridge, which I guess is about an hour west of Toronto?

I would love to stick around, but I have to leave Thursday and I am with my boss and another co-worker.
