CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The Indiana Pacers' bench has taken another hit.

Swingman Marquis Daniels will miss tonight's game against the Charlotte Bobcats with a left knee injury.
Daniels, who is averaging 4.8 points and 2.5 rebounds, missed part of the preseason and the final 25 games last season with a knee injury. The two knee injuries were not related.
Shawne Williams and Kareem Rush will likely pick up Daniels' minutes.
The Pacers are already without forward Ike Diogu (strained calf) for at least a month.
The Pacers host Carmelo Anthony, Allen Iverson and the Denver Nuggets on Saturday night at Conseco Fieldhouse.

*Guess this is why he didn't play much the other night.

No one noticed they're calling Ike's injury a strain now?

I don't care if they call it a boo boo - he's still out 4-6 weeks

If it's only a strain, the recovery time would be less, which is my point.

Tear needs the muscle to regenerate the torn fibers, which takes longer than heeling a strain.

This is ridiculous.....can anyone stay healthy on this team?

Cal Ripkin Jr would even break a leg if he was on this team.

    Marquis Daniels = injury prone.

I wish it weren't so, but that seems to be the track record until proven otherwise.

Any other year and I would be down and frustrated, but I like our depth, so I'm fine with guys getting a chance to prove themselves early. Like Shawne, Rush. Hulk, and even Murph in the new system.

Hopefully this injury pace doesn't continue though

In case you didn't know, Charlotte was the reason that Rush couldn't find a job in the NBA last season. They said he was a bad character guy. I'm pretty sure he's going to want revenge.

Hopefully Jim gets him in earlier than he did Wednesday.

You know, I was thinking along the same lines, except that Bickerstaff is no longer on the sidelines. I think his beef would be with him more than anyone else on the Bobcats. Speaking of injury prone, it seems that Rush is challenging Daniels for that title.

    Daniels is not injury prone...
...He has a chronic injury... In my Uninformed opinion on the subject.

I don't believe his knee injury is 'unrelated' to his previous knee problems. And think they are very much related, if not one and the same.

    But what do I know....
Nuntius was right. I was wrong. Frank Vogel has retained his job.

This team sorely needs the dimensions that Ike and Daniels each bring to the offense. Not having either player is a very big deal, in my opinion.

Exactly right. I saw it in the first game of the season. Marquis reacted to a loose ball the same way Bender would; he wanted to go for it, but his knee was so sore that he reached down for the ball without bending it.

Look, Marquis has a serious injury. Some nights he'll be able to play, some he won't. Some night's he'll look like an all-star, others he'll look a step slow. Unfortunately, that's what this is.
