i dont know if anyone mentioned it, but rick carlisle was on the Mike Tirico show today and when asked what team is under the radar, carlisle said the pacers he believed were a playoff team AND would be competing for home court in the playoffs this season. click on the link below and play the 11/1 show. rick comes on around the 10:50 mark. the homecourt kinda threw me. did he sneak in and chug some of the obrien koolaid or did jim leave some in the ESPN communal fridge that rick got his hands on?

What did the Sonics get for Allen and Lewis other then Wally.
They could have a pretty good team right now with both of these guys playing alongside Durant, although they'd have a small lineup any way you look at it. I don't think they'd be a championship team, but I hope they have a number of future first lined up to compliment Durant.

They got Jeff Green and Delonte West for Allen, and a 2nd rounder for Lewis (who was an unrestricted free agent anyway).

so what's the NBA record for shots attempted by a rookie in a season?

Two games in, and Durant's already chucked up 45 shots...

Hah - the Chicago fans who stayed to the end started chanting "Kobe" in their loss to the Sixers.

Bynum 3-3, 6 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists in less than 7 minutes vs the most talented team in the league. Just a brief glimpse of future greatness.

Anyone see the Pistons game? Box score, game notes and even a shout out from Bill Walton sound like the rook did okay. 25 minutes anyway.

Kobe looks like he's having fun out there. Two no look passes on one play and some fancy dribbling in a (for now) rout of Phoenix. That pass he got from Luke in the 1st Half was beautiful as well.

Afflalo had a much better game tonight. Played solid defense and made himself available when the defense sagged.

Really like the first two games to start the season. We're using our bench more, and for once our bench isn't populated by scrubs.

Brendan Haywoode is BALLIN so far this season. In the first 2:30 minutes against the Magic, he has two ridiculous blocks -- one the embarassed Dwight and another even worse one on $126-million man Rashard Lewis. He's rebounding (leading the league) and blocking out well from what I've seen too.

If he can prove to be a legit defensive force for them inside for say 32 mpg, they should be a lot tougher to score against than last year. Deshawn Stevenson in the starting lineup gives them another perimeter stopper aside Caron too.

    We'll see.

For the record, playing Rashard Lewis at PF is the dumbest idea I've seen this season. I thought SVG was a better coach than that.

Well, it's not like he has many other options. Battie or Augustine aren't really exciting possibilities. They could really use an Ike Diogu/Channing Frye type low-post scorer to pair with Dwight down low.

But with the roster Ron Jeremy currently has, he's probably right in trying to get Turkoglu into the starting lineup. At least this way, they have plenty of scoring options in the front court, which will hopefully keep Jameer from trying to do way to much like he's prone to during an offensive drought.

Heck, even starting Foyle at center alongside Howard would be a better option.

Not that it matters tonight, with the wizards starting a PF that's equally as soft.

Washington's slogan for this season seems to be "Are you ready".....

I notice in the commercial, they forgot to ask any of the players.

When he has those numbers against Duncan or Yao, then I will flirt with a comparison such as that.
