Seriously, they had a really good year.

In fact, they EXCEEDED my wins prediction (I predicted 44-46). A very good, fun to watch season. They just picked the wrong year to have it.
You're right. I've been pretty satisfied overall, they've won a lot of games post-suspension in the toughest conference in NBA history. There have been times where the lack of defense and lack of urgency irritated me, but it's a long regular season and there were times Baron and Jack literally had to try and rest on the damn floor.

Next season could be really special though. If Baron stays, Monta stays, Beans stays, add a legitimate bench player, and develop Wright...

you can still see the nuggets losing to utah and houston to end the season. It ain't over yet.

It wasn't about being the team everyone loved, it was about beating the teams everyone else loved.

Stephen Jackson has shot 27% over the past 8 games.

It's over. He don't play well, they lose. And he's sucked lately.

I just saw that. There is no way in hell that is real. I mean.....c'mon. Right? It did kind of look real though.

If you believe that, then you must also believe LeBron can hit 8 straight shots from 75 feet, or that Mike Vick can throw a football 500 yards...

Notice they don't show an angle of the car going under Kobe. You only see the side view, which can easily be faked. You can't tell if Kobe's jumping over the car, or to the side.

Lastly, the Lakers would fine Kobe half his salary for that if it was real.

I kind of caught the tail end of that on the TNT halftime show so I googled it and watched the entire thing with audio. Just some dumb sneaker commercial setup.

Yep. It's a very easy visual trick to pull off.

If you look very close and go frame by frame, then you will see that the shadow lines are off. Kobe is jumping to the side of the car. Watch the shadows.

The Warriors stink.... why is everyone congratulating them on a great season? They have no heart whatsoever, and have played their most lackadasical ball of the season over the past three weeks. Why do you think they're on the outside looking in? They're the worst defensive team in the league. I hate watching them and I hate that their style of play is so glorified, considering it won't ever win them anything.

    LOL.

They're about to win 48-50 games in the west with no all-stars and Stephen Jackson as their 2nd best player. That's overachieving in my book.

The reason they've played poorly of late is because Nelllie had no choice but to run the starters into the ground because the bench was bad/inexperienced/young/injured. They're basically done this year, but they got the most out of their ability.

I guess we were better off all those years before we re-hired Nellie and missed the playoffs for 12 years in a row and never finished a season above .500. Obviously you would have never complained if we had continued down that path.

Jack just hit a dagger three. Tied up 112 with 2:30 to play.

Warriors end their season on the same night the Pacers do likewise.

In the event that Utah beats San Antonio on wednesday, Phoenix, Utah, Houston and San Antonio will all be tied at 55-27 after the season ends.

According to my calculations, the tiebreaker would go to cumulative head-to-head record among all 4 teams:

    Utah: 7-3
    Phoenix: 6-5
    Houston: 5-6
    San Antonio: 4-8

That's right, the Spurs will probably wind up with the 6th seed if they lose on Wednesday. They need to play it like a playoff game.

It wasn't about being the team everyone loved, it was about beating the teams everyone else loved.

Gave us an embarrassing off-court incident, a tantalizing fantasy stretch in November/December that was ultimately derailed by an injury, a February filled with "Indiana is actively trying to shop Tinsley but nobody wants to take his contract" stories and then a season-ending injury resulting in another year in which he missed more games than he played. In other words, it was just like every other Jamaal Tinsley season! We're one year away from the Pacers slipping an opiate into his Gatorade, waiting an hour, then forcing him to pee into a cup at gunpoint to get him off their cap.

Ever since O'Neal punched out Turtle during the Artest Melee, he morphed into C-Webb 2.0. Check out his past four seasons: 122 missed games (and counting), declining stats each season and one of the most damaging contracts in the league. Is it too late to set him up with Tyra Banks? By the way, if you had to rank the most destructive moments to an NBA franchise in the past 30 years in terms of immediate damage and long-term ramifications, the Artest Melee ranks just below Lenny Bias' coke overdose and the Bowie/Jordan pick at this point.
Simmons mentions the LVP's for the year. Here's the full article: http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2...simmons/080415.

Mildly funny as always from Simmons..... but that Durant/KG/Dirk/Melo/LBJ comparison is absolutely absurd....

mdj gets a mention as well

    64. Sam Dalembert, Mike Dunleavy Jr. (tie)
Any time two guys play themselves off the All-Overpaid Team in the same season, we have to commemorate the moment, right? You have to give Big Sam credit for being the only reliable rebounder/shotblocker on a playoff team that went 22-11 down the stretch. Meanwhile, check out Junior's numbers in '08: A 19-5-5 every game, coupled with 84 percent FT shooting, 48 percent FG shooting and 42 percent from 3-point territory, making him the official backup for Mike Miller as the "Token White Guy" on our 2008 Olympic team. I have to admit, I'm battling some flabbergastation about the whole thing. I can't be alone.

All right, imagine Toronto's team if the Raptors had just taken him over Joey Graham in 2005, which, by the way, WAS THE LOGICAL MOVE! Whoops, I just went all crazy TV analyst on you. My bad.

He's such a homer though. You just can't justify KG over Paul or Kobe. My list goes:
    1) KB24 (The Lakers won the most competitive conference in the history of the sport.)
    2) CP3 (Whatever team won the West gets it.)
    3) KG (b/c they have the best record)
    4) Manu (Just watch the fourth quarters of Spurs games)
    5) Lebron/D12 (Same difference; non-Elite East teams; physically dominant; All-Star starters)
