To me, this is fairly clear-cut as Dice --- while definitely not a true center by any stretch of the imagination --- often finds himself playing that way. And like most of us knows that JO is more our C than Jeff Foster is, when Dice is playing in the frontcourt with Maxiell and Tayshaun, he is the team's center.
Heck, on offense anyway, he's more of a center than Sheed when they're both out there.
And from everything I saw last year and everything I hear for this season, Nazr isn't going to be playing a ton more than last year, and Maxiell is...both alongside Dyess and along with Sheed. And Nazr is the only real C on the roster and hasn't ever played over 20 mpg in Piston blue.
McDyess has been and will be playing center at times.

Veteran Antonio McDyess is the starting center for now, and he said he spent the latter half of his summer preparing for that change. He smiled when explaining how the Pistons front office convinced him to give up his comfortable role as a sixth man. "I don't think I had a choice," McDyess said. "I definitely didn't have a choice."
Although McDyess will likely start, the team also has Nazr Mohammed, a true center, on its roster, and he is expected to get time, too. Wallace will also play some at center, a role he has tried to deflect in recent seasons. "I've played every position out there except the point since I've been in the league," Wallace said. " ... It's always good to know that the guy on your right or left is a guy who is willing to go out there and play hard and do the things that 'Dyess does. So I'm confident with that."

For one, he is playing center more often, and he's learning where the open spots are when he and Rasheed Wallace are both on the floor.

Here’s a look at the center position for the 2007-08 Pistons entering camp, where the possibility exists that a surprise starter – Antonio McDyess – could emerge during training camp:
Antonio McDyess – While the thought of the 6-foot-9 McDyess guarding O’Neal might be painful all around, there just aren’t enough dominant 7-foot post scoring threats to dismiss the possibility of McDyess as Detroit’s starting center.
McDyess is a very active and somewhat unorthodox post defender, but he’s proven very effective over the years. The Pistons might have to ask him to play more minutes than the 21 or 22 he’s been accustomed to getting since joining the team, but not by much. He’s going to pick up more fouls as an undersized center, but at 25 minutes a game, it should be manageable. And the plus for the Pistons is that with McDyess and Wallace in the starting lineup, the Pistons are going to have two big men who are perfectly comfortable shooting perimeter jumpers, taxing opposing defenses.

Antonio McDyess will start at center for the Pistons this season, according to The Sports Xchange. Rasheed Wallace will also see plenty of time at the position as the team tries to survive without the departed Chris Webber.

Update: McDyess is getting more comfortable as a starter as the preseason has progressed, the Detroit Free Press reports.
Recommendation: McDyess enjoyed coming off the bench for the Pistons the last few years, but he'll be starting at center or power forward (depending on matchups) during the regular season if all goes well this month.

FoxSports "Roster Report":
Power forward Rasheed Wallace -- He'll play center more often this season, something he's not thrilled about. Keeping him motivated throughout the regular season is a tough task, so Saunders will trim his minutes. That still won't prevent Wallace from racking up technicals.
Center Antonio McDyess -- Amazingly, a player that was a major injury risk when he first signed with the Pistons hasn't missed a game the last two seasons. A starting role might help McDyess avert his usual slow start.
