Thread: Drew Brees with FIVE turnovers tonight vs. Titans

I like that everybody in this thread is oblivious to just how good the Titans are this year. I'm sure it was the butt-kicking the "champs" put on the Saints that did them in the past two weeks, and had nothing to do with the Titans being a team making "the leap" right in front of our eyes.

I'd take the Titans over the Chargers right now. They're not better than Indy or New England, but they've still got upset potential in a playoff game for either team. And they're getting better every week, which is very dangerous when your team is fairly young.

The next game vs. Indy will be a litmus test to see just how far the Titans have come.

Well, our whole division is a lot better, but the Saints lost by the exact same score to Tampa Bay as they did Tenn., so are we watching the Bucs make a great leap before our eyes as well?

Did the Bucs hold the second best offense in the league to 22 and only lose by two points with a constantly improving QB and WR corps?

One other thing going for the Titans is that other than the division games, they've only got two "tough" games all year, one against San Diego, and one against Cincinatti, maybe three if you count Denver. Otherwise, it's a lot of games against Oakland, KC, the Jets, Atlanta, and Tampa Bay. Pretty easy schedule.

Well, they beat the Super Bowl champions last year at home and couldn't do it this year. So, relatively speaking, they got worse.

I still think the Saints are shell-shocked.

    What are you talking about?

The game was in Pittsburgh, and the Steelers won 38-31.

    http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter?game_i...ter&week=REG10

Willie Parker ran all over them (213 yards) and Ben was finally playing well. He only threw 9 INTs over last 8 games, it was the 14 INTs during his first 6.5 games that killed the Steelers.

The Saints weren't very good last year, except by NFC standards. But that ain't saying much.
Why do the things that we treasure most, slip away in time
Till to the music we grow deaf, to God's beauty blind
Why do the things that connect us slowly pull us apart?
Till we fall away in our own darkness, a stranger to our own hearts
And life itself, rushing over me
Life itself, the wind in black elms,
Life itself in your heart and in your eyes, I can't make it without you

I was up 3 points in fantasy football, and my opponent had no one else playing. I had Brees and he got me -11 points and I lost by 8! I was pretty heated

By the way, Bill Simmons agrees with me about Tennessee:

We're not talking about the Joey Porter steroid team that had to get all the favorable calls in the Superbowl TWO YEARS AGO. We're talking about the REIGNING WORLD CHAMPS:

Actually, I was using a direct quote, since I don't use "champ" to refer to a defending champion. Me and G. Marnatsi are tight.

Oh, I see. I was trying to figure out what the Colts could have done to become "Champs" and not just Champs. Lol.

Obviously he doesn't like you so if you'd just take him off your team I'm sure he'll play better.

Whatever. Learn to use proper nouns instead of pronouns and then you won't be so confusing.

The Titans didn't play the Super Bowl champs last year. Last year's "Super Bowl champs" was the Steelers. This year's champs are the Colts. Next years champs are TBD.

Or you can do it the other way, but then there is no way of declaring that the Titans (or Saints) have played this year's champions because we're only at week #4.

This "IS" a thread about the Saints, who did play the defending Super Bowl champs last year and this year. And lost both games.

Yeah, with Troy and Casey missing the entire second half, and with both starting corners taken off on golf carts, we went from a great defensive team to an average one in no time. I think we were out of defensive backs and couldn't play nickle/dime coverages. I don't think any of the injuries are major, or this could get really ugly really fast.

Very unispiring performance from both teams. Kurt Warner took turns helping both teams. As did Roethlesberger.

Geez, I can't imagine the Colt's going into Arizona and only coming away with 14 points. No matter how many defensive players got carted off. We lost our starting left tackle and best DT before the season started and then yesterday lost Sanders and Morris and Harrison and Addai for awhile and still put up 38 points in 3 quarters.

Yeah - it spoke volumes yesterday when Whisenhutt constantly put eight and nine men in the box. I don't care what Ben and Bruce Ayrens say, this is still the same offense.
