4 interceptions and a fumble. It was UGLY.

To be fair, his O line didn't give him a whole lot of protection tonight. But yeah, that's not good either way.

Wow, what happened to the Saints?

That thumping the Colts gave them on opening night is starting to look very unimpressive...

No I think rather they have still not recovered from that opening day thumping. When you spend the entire offseason building and anticipating beating the world champs and taking the next step from the season before and then get the reality check that the Colt's gave them, I think it destroyed their morale.

Drew is this year's Roethlesberger. He's better than that, but he's in a turnover funk. Real bad.

This will be a difficult year for the Saints. They won't sneak up on anybody, they're playing a "first place" schedule. And an AFC division that's pretty tough.

They weren't *that* good last year, the NFC was just terrible and the decent NFC teams had late-season injury issues.

Till to the music we grow deaf, to God's beauty blind
Why do the things that connect us slowly pull us apart?
Till we fall away in our own darkness, a stranger to our own hearts
And life itself, rushing over me
Life itself, the wind in black elms,
Life itself in your heart and in your eyes, I can't make it without you

I think that has a lot to do with it.

Also, expectations are high now. Last year, they were able to sneak up on teams, but this year is different.

Now they have the injury to Deuce McAllister. Things are only going to get tougher for them.

The dude is killing my fantasy football team.

    And I'm still 3-0.

I had him on the bench, but figured with the ain'ts coming back home things would be different, so I put him back into the line-up.

    Wrong.

Not a lot has gone right for them so far. Losing McAllister isn't going to help things either. I feel sorry for Brees.

He is white so I will give him a pass. Kidding. Outside of Manning, who I am obliged to like, Brees is a favorite of mine. The offense though just hasn't been clicking.

Every team in the NFC is suspect. There are some average teams but I don't know if there are any good teams.
"They could turn out to be only innocent mathematicians, I suppose," muttered Woevre's section officer, de Decker.

"'Only.'" Woevre was amused. "Someday you'll explain to me how that's possible. Seeing that, on the face of it, all mathematics leads, doesn't it, sooner or later, to some kind of human suffering."

I think the Cowboys could be a contender.

Much as I hate to admit it, the Cowboys just might be a "good" team. Not sure yet.

Just like Pittsburgh, they haven't actually played anybody yet. We'll find out about Dallas on 10/14 against New England. If they can't get from 3-0 today to 5-0 for that game, then they have issues, too.

Brees would have been the just about the highest scoring member of my fantasy team if he were on it this week......

    I hate my team.

i think most of drew's problems focus on a terrible offensive line. if you watched last night brees was constantly under pressure because the left side of the line couldn't stop a guy like morten anderson from sacking brees much less haynesworth.
    This is the darkest timeline.

Don't tell me you're a Larry Johnson owner as well.

No, I proudly selected Stephen Jackson and Maurice Jones-Drew in the first two rounds. And I benched Anquan Boldin in favor of Santonio Holmes' 31 yards! Good thing I only lost by 2 points last week and didn't need the extra 19 points Boldin would have given me.

I love you too. A little piece of me will forever remain indebted to Troy Murphy. I'll have to remember that before I go ripping into him this upcoming season.

Back on topic, it looks like Jason David will be missing some significant time as well, with a fractured forearm. Hey...that might actually be a good thing for the Saints.

Depending on what happens with Hines Ward, Holmes might be worth playing this weekend.

When you only need to throw 20 passes, and you're spreading them out all over the field (throwing to the tight ends for the first time since Eric Greene) its hard for the receivers to do much.

Well, I have to start him since everyone else is injured or on a bye. Hell, I had to pick up Michael Pittman as my RB1.

Or the Saints just suck this year. I think that's the more likely one. When you get killed by Tampa Bay and then lose pretty easily to the Titans, you know your not a very good team.

I hadn't really thought hard about the Saints untill a few days before we played them. Once I really thought about them, I decided I'd be shocked if they were even in the playoffs.

The defense did not improve, they beat a lot of pedestrian teams last year on the way to a 10-6 record. Based on the hype they got you'd think they went 14-2. I also have thought Reggie Bush had an overrated rookie season.

Mathmetically, somebody will win the most games in the NFC. And two teams will qualify to play in the NFC championship game, and one will make it to the Super Bowl, by rule.

But that doesn't make any of them "good teams" by NFL/AFC standards.

Right there with you on SJax, but I picked up Frank Gore and Travis Henry as well.

I picked right in benching Gore with his amazing 31yds rushing against Pitt, but Henry wowed the stat line with 35yds rushing against Jax.

If Jackson would have had another week like he did in 1 and 2, I would have sold my team already.

Having Tom Brady as my QB is helping out quite a bit though.
