    accidental rhythm scheme
    here's a solution

    things dead around here
bird struggles with what to do
    a PR nightmare

    temptations of life
    what does management do next?
    they're disappointed

    have fun, eveyrone
    seven - five - seven
    next month we do sonnets!

Thats more of a poem then a Haiku. From what I understand, a Haiku is more of a random thought in one liner or two liner form. Good poem though.

Haha, a Pacers sonnet would be something to see.

I had a Pacers version of Keats' "Give Me Women, Wine, and Snuff" prepared... but I'm gonna hold off on that... lol.

A haiku is a 3 line poem with a syllable (sound) pattern of 5-7-5. It was derived from the hokku, which was the opening stanza of a poem in the renga (5-7-5-7-7) style.

That's o.k. Mal, good haiku is hard to write. I know because I've never written any good haiku!

You got it. A technically correct sonnet. Sorry there's no humor. It's from the dark side.

    Putnam’s Nightmare: A Player’s Response
    .
    Oh, so the fans don’t like the Pacers ilk;
Because some of them misbehave off-court,
instead of staying home and drinking milk?
Let me reply to that, I’ll keep it short.
    .
    **** the fans, my contract’s guaranteed;
I am a millionaire, and they are not.
What biz of theirs is it if I smoke weed?
Or drive around at night inhaling pot?
    .
I’m only here until my option year,
And then I’ll go to any team that pays.
I haven’t no desire for staying here.
What the **** is a Hoosier anyways?
    .
If dreams like this give casual fans such fright,
Imagine what L. Bird dreams of at night!
And I won't be here to see the day
It all dries up and blows away
I'd hang around just to see
But they never had much use for me
    In Levelland. (James McMurtry)
