He's partially right, though. These are two awesome defensive teams, but two horrendous offensive teams. Remember, I said I want the Pistons over the Nets because their offense was so bad. Unfortunately, ours has been worse. ed:
"I'm not arguing; I'm explaining why I'm right."
Pacers aren't a horrible offensive team.. Up until they played Detroit they had the best FG% at 45.6% in the playoffs.
Well it's about fast and slow. Fast offenses put points on the board. Slow offenses put points on the board, also, but do it slower, obviously. It's pretty obvious Indy and Detroit play a much slower brand of ball than LA and Minn. They also happen to play real defense, making it tougher on the offense.
Indy and Detroit have decent offenses, not the best in the league, but it's all about systems. Just because a team chooses to play a half-court, slower style of game doesn't mean their offense is worse.
Peter May is an idiot. It's like he looks at the final low scores and assumes that they couldn't hit a bucket period, as if they were wide open shots. Did he even watch the game? He might have noticed that unlike the LA/Minn series, when someone drives the lane in the Indy/Detroit series they get hit HARD and most of the time blocked. Every shot is contested, every fast break is thwarted. The only thing these defenses can't defend is free throws.
There are two types of quarterbacks in the league: Those whom over time, the league figures out ... and those who figure out the league.
They are when Ron Artest dominates the ball, refuses to pass, and throws up terrible shot after terrible shot.Pacers aren't a horrible offensive team..
Which he didn't do tonight. They are when Ron Artest dominates the ball, refuses to pass, and throws up terrible shot after terrible shot.Pacers aren't a horrible offensive team..
Welcome to Pacers Digest! New around here? Here are three tips for making the forum a great place to talk about Pacers basketball.
- Log in. Even if you want to read instead of post, it's helpful because it lets you:
- Change your signature options. You can hide all signatures by choosing "Settings" (top right) then "General Settings" (middle left) and unchecking the box "Show Signatures" (in the "Thread Display Options" area).
- Create an ignore list. I know it may seem unneighborly. But you're here to talk about the Pacers, not argue with someone who's just looking for an argument. Most of the regular users on here make use (at least occasionally) of the "Ignore" feature. Just go to "Settings" -> "Edit Ignore List" and add the names.
Enjoy your time at PD!
