A rather warm day. Nothing exciting and everything par for the course. Saw Bob Sanders ride out to the practice field about 8:25am. Saw Bob Sanders ride back on a cart at 8:50am. Saw Bob Sanders return on a cart later and saw Bob Sanders not working with the regular team.

Good size crowd today, Manning was unhappy while signing because the crowd was getting hectic. Peope were 10 deep almost half the field and the pushing was getting out of hand. Comes with the territory I guess. Dallas Clark tried to help out by signing also. The rook Gonzo signed further on down.

If you want to know Xs & Os I'm not that guy.

Almost forgot apparently fame must be fleeting. J-Mac the autistic kid (20? points in his first/last high school game) is back for the first week of camp. Last year seemed several people recognized him, this year seems to be a different story.

Shoulder? How? It's the first day. I hope Sanders doesn't become the distraction he was last year. I don't care what anyone says not spending time on the field with the other guys, especially during training camp will cause resentment.

That's pretty cool J-Mac was there. I didn't realize he was a Colts fan.

I doubt they are going to resent the guy that put that Superbowl ring on their finger.

ABA - Sanders had surgery on the shoulder during the offseason, he's not 100% yet and I think the plan was to not have him participate until he is 100%.

I agree with you though, he can't keep up that routine year after year without causing some amount of resentment.

Taking a short break out of the sun. Tried to get J-Mac to sign up on PD, but found out he was a Lakers fan so I said that's ok.

Let me preface my statement. I love Sanders. But there were many, many players who contributed to that Super Bowl ring. They practiced. They played. If you don't think prolonged "sit-outs" will cause resentment you know nothing about team sports no matter how good the player is.

Regarding J-Mac being a Laker fan - I knew that "offensive explosion" was just dumb luck

Seriously RWB, thanks for the reports. TD said Bob may be out there after our first preseason game so let's hope that holds true.

That's pretty crazy about Peyton getting mad at the crowd but I don't blame him. Some people just act stupid and don't know how to act around celebs.

I am glad he got mad at the crowd, its something they teach in grade school, "behave yourself" if people don't want to do that then they should get yelled at.

Sorry guys not a whole lot to report as I stayed off the field until practice was over. Had a bout of heat poisoning yesterday evening/early this morning.

Nicer crowd today and while there is always some pushing and shoving the folks seem to have their act together better. Peyton signed for a good 40 minutes and in a much better mood. I was happy because I still had a massive headache.

Someone got their revenge on Coach Teerlinck. He's as bad as rocket arm when it comes to messing with people's carts. Apparently it was found in the woods covered in brush.

One thing to add a big hefty porkchop kid kept trying to push in line to get Peyton's autograph and actually had already got one. He looks right at him and says "Come on little man you already got one. Actually you got 12 months worth. We'll see you again next year.

On another side note he still refuses to sign a shirt someone is wearing (though he did sign a little girl's after seeing Dungy do it). Simply if you want it signed, don't be wearing it.

Never understood the rule but in previous years the Colts harped on digital cameras not being allowed. So far it's been ok to do.

Another slow day at the ranch. Probably a few fans will be disappointed who planned on coming out Saturday and getting Peyton's autograph in the tent. They changed it up and he signed in the tent with the O-Line today. For the last 9 years its always been the first Saturday.

Under the useless knowledge report..........Apparently there was a nice contigent of players on a quest for ping pong paddles. Must of frightened the hell out of your Welcome to Wal-Mart customers on highway 46. Me like football, me like ping pong, me must have paddle. Not aware of Colts betting on dogs like Mike Vick, but they sure have no objection to taking each other's money playing the table.

Another slow day at the ranch.

When I post the above I meant story wise and today is the same. Actually this is the busiest camp I can remember and attendance is probably up 40% so there hasn't been time.

It's happened before but kills me everytime. The campus being pretty woodsy always bring out mother nature. A couple of the business ladies who do the power walk exercise thing were walking toward a player when he immediately makes an extreme turn away from them. They of course thought he was thinking they were fans and going to ask for an autograph. Lady shouts out "hey you don't have to be afraid were just walking". Player points "Snake" gives one of those shivers and keeps walking.

Apparently Peyton is loved by everyone. The best line of camp is "I'm Gay for Peyton".

This past week a rather large male was at camp wearing a pink shirt and air-brushed in purple on the front was "I'm Gay for Peyton". Rumor has it a certain SB kicker took the time to take a picture using his cell phone of the nice young man and at some point like the commercial it was sent to everyone in his circle. Of course being the entire football team is his circle I'm pretty confident there was alot of text messaging going on. By the way, as always this is for the Digest only and not to be copied onto the Star or any other forum.

Got to love those Seinfeld moments buddy. Funny as hell that Vina (oh I mean that that kicker dude ) practically begged that guy to get his photo. Of course there is nothing wrong with that.

I really hate it when people get pushy and rude like that! It's a wonder that someone hasn't been seriously hurt.

    Today's camp line.....

"It aint right, it aint right. Somebody needs their *** kicked cause this aint right".

The following quote was word for word from #47 who along with some additional free agents and rooks were forced to sign autographs for about 45 minutes after practice while all the rest of the players were terrorizing the roads back to Indy. Temp. on the field was registering 106 degrees.

Side note.....Have seen a few of the staff wearing booger92.com shirts. Not sure what it is but will have to look sometime.

    Thanks for the link PCF.

Of course nothing to talk about today since our boys are meeting the Boys tonight. For you die hard fans the Horseshoe's plane will be back Friday morning sometime between 4 and 5am.

Forgot one line of the week.....When Gay for Peyton asked Sorgi to sign his shirt Sorgi was going to but politely declined and had his picture taken instead. Sorgi's reasoning....Who am I to ruin your shirt. I think your conquering hero should be the first to sign.

Most embarassing hit of the week.......Nope not on the practice field but on the sideline with the fans. Father and son team were stealing signed items (footballs, helmets, pictures) out of people's bags while they were turned to watch the scrimmage. The young man was only 17 and the dad was dressed in casual attire (Mr. Docker man) in his 40s. The victims did not want to prosecute but the head of security made an example out of Dad in front of his son on what a bad example and parent he was. It's terrible when a grown man cries.

After today's special teams practice it looks like the Colts are leaning toward using a spot for the kickoff specialist. They had Adam V on another field working on field goals only. At 48 yards perfect everytime and straight down the middle. At 50 yards it was a struggle.

On a side note......Jeff Saturday and Bob Sanders are room mates this year and Saturday continues to beat all challengers in ping pong. He may have a career after football against the Chinese team.

How "high" were the 48 yard FGs? By that I mean did they barely make it over, or were they up there pretty high still? If they were still up, I don't understand why another 6 feet would suddenly make that a struggle (again, unless it's a power issue vs. accuracy). Because if you had room at 48, shouldn't you be able to kick it the same (basically) and have is just make it over the bar? Sure that's risky but if you're a laser at 48 it shouldn't be that big of a deal as I'm imagining it.

But I know that no one out there "just does that", I'm sure there's a good explanation.

The kicks were very high but dropped like a lead balloon if that makes sense. Kept hitting the bar almost punt like in slo mo.
