Today could be the day the Indianapolis Colts officially add another option to the quarterback Peyton Manning-led offense.

Signs point toward the team coming to contract terms as soon as this afternoon with wide receiver Anthony Gonzalez. The Colts selected the former Ohio State standout with the 32nd and final pick in the April draft.

Mike McCartney, Gonzalez's agent, said discussions with the team were "positive'' and progressing. He added a deal might be in place sometime today. McCartney refuted an ESPN report stating he and the Colts had reached agreement on a five-year, $7.05 million contract.

The team already has reached agreement with two of its nine draft picks on four-year deals: Ohio State wide receiver Roy Hall, a fifth-round pick, and Texas Tech defensive end Keyunta Dawson, a seventh-round pick.

Gonzalez is expected to step in and contribute immediately as a slot receiver with Pro Bowl starters Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne.

The Colts report to Terre Haute on Sunday for the start of training camp, and draft picks must be under contract to join their teammates.
