I hate the offseason. I can only imagine what's it will be like without draft day to look forward to.

What's the fascination with a pick? Bynum and Odom is a lot of talent to get. Yall aren't satisfied with receiving the most talent the Pacers franchise has ever gotten in a trade (excluding, possibly, DD for JO)?

Gerald Green and #5 is better than Bynum/Odom? That baffles me. Who is this guy available at #5 that I haven't heard of? Gerald Green is gonna be better than Lamar Odom? Really?
I just think Bird and Walsh are set on getting in this draft. I think the Pacers will get a pick. Whether it's the #19 or an earlier 2nd rounder (in which they would trade up to get in the 1st)

I totally agree with Bynum/Odom being better then GG/#5

What Chad Ford is reporting, is pretty similiar to what I posted as the "common sense" trade idea. Only main differences is Kwame isn't involved.

Sounded like teams were waiting to hear if JO and Odom would be ok with going to their new teams... (plus I wonder if we are holding out for a 1st round pick or another young kid)

I can't sort this out - specifically what deal is Jim Gray talking about?

You would be correct. He said Boston wants to know if JO will play there, and Indy dosen't know about Odom, his want to go to Indy and his Shoulder.

I don't see how the salaries workout in this. And how does this help us with salaries with no cap relief? Doesn't this put us in a worse situation?

And sources have confirmed to ESPN that Boston is indeed the 4th team!

Will JO want to go to Boston? Odom to Indiana? Will the Pacers land #19? I think these are the deciding factors

Well of course we want a pick, but it's not like we should be dragging our feet in a complicated 4-team deal just to get a mid to late first rounder when we're already getting the two big pieces we want.

Once we get young Andrew and Odom across state lines, then we can deal Foster or something if we want an average pick to grab a guard we like.

Just get this done first before McHale realizes he's the dumbest (and most likely the worst dressed) guy in the room.

I have a feeling the 4th team isn't Boston but a team no one expects like Charlotte.

The Bobcats can come up with a package of Wallace/Knight/Harrington/May/#22 for JO + Hassell.

    The complete trade would be:

    Pacers get Brown(exp)/Bynum/Radmanovic/Harrington(exp)/Knight(exp)/#19 for JO/Dunleavy/Foster/Greene

    PG Tinsley/Knight/DA
    SG Daniels/Evans/#19(Fernandez?)
    SF Granger/Williams/Radmanovic
    PF Murphy/Diogu/Harrington
    C Bynum/Brown/Harrison

    Twolves get Odom/Wallace(S&T)/#8 for Garnett/Hassell/#41

    PG Foye/Hudson/#22(Green?)
    SG Davis/McCants/Jaric
    SF Wallace/#8
    PF Odom/Howard/Smith
    C Blount/#7(Noah?)/Madsen

    Lakers get Garnett/Dunleavy/Foster/Greene/May/#41 for Odom/Brown/Radmanovic/Bynum/Evans/#19

    PG Farmar/Greene/DA
    SG Kobe/Vujacic/#41(Afflalo?)
    SF Dunleavy/Walton
    PF Garnett/May/Cook
    C Foster/Mihm/Turiaf

    Bobcats get JO/Hassell for Wallace(S&T)/Knight/Harrington/May/#8

    PG Felton/#22(Koponen?)
    SG Hassell/Carroll
    SF Morrison/Anderson
    PF JO/Hermann/Voskuhl
    C Okafor/Brezec/Hollins

IF this is true, and that's a big IF, JO would be smart to accept a losing season in Boston as an opportunity to boost his stats. Then he can opt out and take a sucker team to the bank after that. Just my two cents.

Can't confirm that...But I can offer up the fact that he's one of the dumbest human beings I've ever seen inside my TV set.

Has always seemed like an NBA "outsider" to me. Wouldn't put a lot of weight in anything he says.

I'm right with you on this. We can pursue guard help through another trade. Adding Odom gives us three legit 4s (if you count Foster) and then we've got the three headed SF monster. So further moves can be undertaken from there.

    Let's be clear:
Bynum is an umproven 19 year old kid, Odom is a hurt player who doesn't play a pure position. We don't need frontcourt players, yet we'll trade our best frontcourt player for an unproven guy and an injured guy?
    Ridiculous.

I was thinking of this....but Odom expires in 2 seasons...right before Granger/Ike/Bynum contracts are up.

If anything...you could consider this as part of the cap relief that is need to resign those players. The problem is that we would still have to clear alot more cap in order to keep all of them.

Jim Gray is confirming the LA times report, plus confirming our speculation that Boston is the 4th team...

Yeah Gray isn't the most credible... but there are also multiple other people reporting this story (LA Times, Chad Ford, ect...)...

The next time Ricky Davis is called:

    1) An impact player in the postseason;
    2) A player whom locked down the MVP defensively;
    3) The leader of his team;
    4) A philanthropist who builds a school.

    will all be the first.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ricky_Davis

Davis organized a contest to distribute 15 season tickets to his most passionate fans. The section was called the Get Buckets Brigade, named after his motto of "Get Buckets."
Davis' time with Cleveland was marked by disputes with then head coach Paul Silas and he quickly grew a reputation as a selfish showboater. A prime example occurred on March 16, 2003. In the closing seconds of a game against Utah, Davis was one rebound short of his first career triple-double. In an effort to record that rebound, Davis was ready to attempt a shot at his own basket before being fouled by Utah's DeShawn Stevenson. Davis was subjected to widespread criticism.
Not to mention, the game in Indianapolis where Paul Silas threw Ricky out of the game in the first half.

His statistics are marginally better, but he's been on lesser teams. Put Jack's run of 2003-05 against Ricky's career and then consider his playoff performances and the comparison ain't even worth debating.[/quote]

Let it be known, as usual, I did not start this Jack-related talk.
So what? You've made your reputation over time, so you're going to get called out for it.

I just found it incredibly ironic that a player I wouldn't touch with a ten-foot pole, for similar reasons to why I wouldn't touch SJax with a ten-foot pole... well you somehow see this with Ricky but not Shootin' Stephen.

Anyway, I'm sure you want to be viewed as more than a one-trick pony, but that won't happen overnight.

Is Stephen Jackson the poor man's Ricky Davis, or is Ricky Davis the poor man's Stephen Jackson?

    I can never remember.
Doesn't matter - they're the same in my book - somewhat talented swingmen that are substantially overrated, best suited for a bench role, and disruptive/ difficult to coach.

If the Pacers somehow end up with Ricky Davis in all of this, they need to learn from the past and cut him immediately.

I think we'd have to receive another player in addition to LO and Bynum in oder to make the numbers add up -- probably from LA, as they're getting the best player and giving up the least. Maybe Vujacic or Evans. Perhaps we'll be getting Farmar instead of #19. If LA gets Jaric in the trade then they won't need Farmar anyway.

Watch JO balk at going to Boston as well! hahaha

Not really funny, but I can see it happening. Hopefully he sees Pierce as a piece that can help him contend!
