    Successful Scenario
Due to Indiana, L.A. Lakers, Minnesota and Boston being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Indiana, L.A. Lakers, Minnesota and Boston had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

hmmmmmmmmm, can we get the 19 pick too or Farmar or both? Otherwise, hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

I told you all a week ago there would be these 3 way deals and other BS coming out of LA. Why isn't this coming out of Indianapolis or Minnasota?
Maybe because Indy and Minnesota know how to keep their mouths shut whereas LA obviously does not? I'm not saying this wont happen, but just because a trade isn't being leaked from all sides doesn't mean its automatically false.

Yeah, I'd rather have Al Jeff than JO...on SOOOO many fronts...the same with Boston. They're not trading him if all they're getting is JO.

In Smashed's deal, Wolves are getting way too much for KG imo. I also don't think Boston would give up all that for J.O. And in Heartlands, Wolves definitely say no.

    Just my opinion.

Also, I've cooled considerably on Odom. I really only like Bynum in all this. The five pick is nice but we'll probably miss out on Conley.

At this point, I like the Bynum, cap relief, Farmar, and picks deal best.

Boston isn't going to give up that many assets for JO (#5 pick, Green, huge expiring contract of Ratliff)

otherwise the 4-way from heartland fan makes some sense.

Scalabrine helps us not even a little bit though he has a reasonable salary (3M, 3 more years). He may be a softer Murphy albeit at a much lower price.

If you want them to give up Big Al then you'd have to take on that contract and probably give them Granger or Williams.

But there is Corey Brewer or Nick Young if Conely is gone.

Let me put in my 2 cents on my trade just to kinda clear things up. Scalabrine is definitely not a desirable player for us but he had to be added to match salaries. Otherwise it doesn't work.

On the topic of Minnesota not accepting Brown, Ratliff, 5th pick, Green, I would have to disagree. While it doesn't seem like much on the surface, it really does help them in the future. Both Brown and Ratliff are expiring which tremendously helps their cap. Green can then be part of their future at SF with Foye and McCants as the other backcourt players. With the 5th pick, they can then go after a frontcourt player. Then after that, they still have the 7th pick to select the BPA. It gives them a bright future with tons of cap room.

That's true...If we can get Bynum and the five pick...and that's it...I'm content.

The Boston idea is interesting, I agree. Water down their KG offer a bit and give that to us? But no, that doesn't add up because if they did that to get JO, we could just trade with them and wouldn't need Minn. or LA. Unless you believe they'd want Bynum/Odom?
My guess would be that the Pacers want a center (Bynum) that Boston can't offer.

Let's see, LA gets its baby sitter for Bryant, Minn. gets younger and unloads a HUGE contract, Pacers get cap relief and a young center (and maybe picks?), Boston gets someone to team with Pierce.

On top of that.....if Minny moves KG....they would be in the same boat as the Pacers.....rebuilding.
Its not like the Wolves or Pacers are lighting up the league now. Both are going nowhere and are saddled with a big contract player as well.

Al Jefferson is a center and a darn good one. He proved during the second half of last season that he's a future all star

That's another reason why AlJeff won't be going anywhere......we have reached our quota of huge contracts to take on....and I don't see TPTB giving up Granger or Shawne to do that.

Regardles.....I still think that AlJeff is untouchable. I know its blashemphy around here to say it....but JONeal isn't that much to get a young prospect like AlJeff.

    Successful Scenario
Due to L.A. Lakers, Indiana, Minnesota and Boston being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. L.A. Lakers, Indiana, Minnesota and Boston had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Pretty similar to Heartlands, only we also give up Shawne and Minnesota also gets #19, Shawne, and exchanges Jaric and Hudson's 3 year deals for Wally's 2 year deal.

    No way.

If the Timberwolves trade KG to the Lakers why in the world would they want Jermaine over Odom and Bynum? Why would they even deal KG if all they get is Jermaine?

Don't count on this ever happening.
They get the possibility of financial freedom if Jermaine opts out. Also, I see Ricky Davis in our future with this deal.

Its not like the Wolves or Pacers are lighting up the league now. Both are going nowhere and are saddled with a big contract player as well.
I know....that's why I'm saying that if either teams are trading their franchise player......they are rebuilding....why would they want a stopgap solution ( Odom or JONeal ) to get in the way?

I just don't see how JONeal is any better then KG for the TWolves.

I have...like some others here on PD...is lukewarm on keeping Odom. I would much rather rebuild completely with Bynum as the centerpiece of the trade then keep Odom and be mediocre and a little more competitive. I just view Odom as a player that will take minutes away from Shawne and Ike. If I had the option, I would much rather get Odom in return....and then ship him off to some other team and get back an expiring Contract/prospect then keep him.

This is David West, he is the Honey Badger, West just doesn't give a *****....he's pretty bad *ss cuz he has no regard for any other Player or Team whatsoever.

KG to LA only if LA gives up everything, outside of Kobe and that aint happening.
JO to Minny; Minny and Indy could trade between them, no need for LA
JO to Boston; see why KG to Boston is a nono, JO will simply tell them he will opt out, Boston would give pick up for 1 year reluctant rental
JO to LA; no need for any partners.

Conclusion: I have to agree with DaSmash here (rut roh)
