But isn't "I told you" pointing out foresight that couldn't be judged at the time. One reason I bailed on the Star was having old debates fall off the map where people couldn't be called on things, especially some of the more obnoxious posters.
I have no problem being called out on F'ups myself. It sucks, but wrong is wrong. I'd rather have everyone owning up than just ranting away with no consequence or a build-up of reputation (as wrong, right, considerate, impatient).
Sports talk is too full of outrageous one-off shouts of opinion that never face judgment. Thus the continued existence of Vescey's trade rumor credibility.
