NE has the coach and players with enough credability to tell him to sit down, shut up, and catch the ball.
What's more, Belichick and others sat face-to-face with him and very bluntly told him the rules before the trade that this would be the case, and he said he'd be on board with that and offered to slash his salary for the opportunity.

So the upshot is that the Pats used their 1st round pick to get SF's 1st round pick next year and a throw-in 4th rounder that became Moss.

This Pats fan would be lying if I said I'm totally comfortable to see a knucklehead added to the mix. But...

The price was essentially nothing, the talent is hall-of-fame caliber, and the ability to imediately cut him should things not work out makes it an absolute steal.

Tom Brady apparently restructured his contract to bring Moss in. Tom Brady wins!

NE, SD, Denver, Jags will all be tough next year.
Did you completely forget about the AFC North?

Why do the things that connect us slowly pull us apart?
Till we fall away in our own darkness, a stranger to our own hearts

Life itself in your heart and in your eyes, I can't make it without you

I think the Ravens and Bengals will continue to play well, and the Browns will surprise some people...

Bengals and Ravens are both very good teams from the AFC North..but I think the Colts, Pats, and Chargers are better then both of them.

Cute. The Bengals peaked two years ago and the Ravens peaked last year.

Now, the Browns are really a team on the rise based on this year's draft, but it will take a couple of years for them to move up in the standings.

The Steelers are just a power RB away from being a 12+ win team again. At least as long as Dick LeBeau is still coaching the defense.

Tennesee is a team I'd really be looking at next year and I think the Bills will be a factor too.

Cincy? Ton of talent but pretty good at self-destructing too.

I don't think that's really what is keeping them from being a good team. Get some consistency on both offense and defense and you will be a 12+ win team. That means you need Ben to not get hurt and you need your defensive players to step up.

Tennessee ... really? They're going to run out there with a rookie corner (Michael Griffin) and Nick Harper, and they're not playing a ton of zone. I'd have to think smart teams are going to see that, and exploit it.

And they took away all of Vince Young's weapons ... I mean, Vince's moxie alone will net some wins, but when it comes to making real noise, I see far too many holes in that team.

    9 catches, 183 yards?

    that's an impact!

Moss lined up wide left, wide right, and in both slots, and he caught at least one pass from each of those four starting points. Overall he caught all 9 balls thrown to him.

Moss was a monster today. He gives Brady something that he's never had in his career. A go to guy who you can count on in tight coverage. Moss was beating triple coverage and abusing the rookie corner who was covering him. One play summed it up perfectly. Moss was covered by 2 guys and Brady just threw a jump ball up to him and he got it anyways. Once he gets some chemistry going with Stallworth, the pats offense is going to be nasty. Also, Sammy Morris is an upgrade over Dillon. He's been MUCH better then I thought.

I have no doubt in my mind that it will come down to the Colts and the Pats in the AFC championship game again.

I would put quite a bit of money on it.

If things keep going as they've started, we're looking at two teams primed to be extremely potent adversaries for one another.

Colts and Pats being as good as they are seemingly renders the Super Bowl a mere formality. There isn't a NFC team that can stick within 20 points of either team.
