Default Donnie Walsh's Statement from Pacers.com

    http://www.nba.com/pacers/news/walsh...nt_070418.html

Statement from Pacers Chief Executive Officer and President Donnie Walsh:
    .
“We are very disappointed with the season that concludes tonight. President of Basketball Operations Larry Bird and I will meet the rest of the week, while attending the NBA Board of Governors meeting, and through the weekend with ownership.
“As time permits, we will also meet with all players and the basketball staff. We expect those meetings to conclude early next week and at that time we will meet with the media to make announcements regarding the direction of the team.”

    I for one can't wait...

Hes not going to give away anything in that press conference and if he does he is losing his touch or desparate.

Good news to me will be big changes. That and a sense that these guys actually have an idea in what direction they'll be heading.

One thing he might talk about is who will be on the coaching staff next year.

I could see that. Whether or not Rick will be back, but as far as the actual roster I wouldn't expect much.

If Rick Carlisle gets fired the off season is a success for me. That is all I want.

Nuntius was right. I was wrong. Frank Vogel has retained his job.

Seriously, maybe they'll announce that Rick is moving into the front office (assuming he even wants to do that), and we'll be beginning the search for a new coach.

That's what my guess would be. I doubt they'll be any player news, just that they will look at trades/free agency through the offseason to try and improve the team, and put a group on the court that will play hard, compete, and try to contend.. as well as a group the fans can cheer for.

I think they need to start a search for a new Front office. Rick did not build this team alone.

I don't think there will be any massive announcements (no players will be sold out, no coaching changes, etc.).

"After much consideration, we're here to announce that we're asking Kegboy of Pacers Digest to go to Secacus, NJ to represent the Pacers franchise in the draft lottery. It came to our attention that, a few weeks ago, he got the Pacers to win ESPN's draft lottery game in under 5 tries. That's pretty good for a 1.5% chance, so we said, Hey, it's worth a shot. We know this franchise is DOA if we don't get a Greg Oden or Mike Conley in here, so we're willing to try anything.

I know you guys have questions, and we'll deal with them after Kelly Krauskoff comes up and talks about the Fever's trade with San Antonio. And no, before you ask, there is no truth to the rumors out of New York that we traded for Becky Hammon because that was some kind of payoff to Kegboy for his participation. However, Kegboy has been nice enough to offer lodging to Becky until she gets settled in Indianapolis and she's accepted.

Lastly, one piece of business. There was a clerical error in the 40th anniversary car giveaway. The winner is in fact a RWB of Terre Haute, and Larry's offered to drive the car down to him. We're sorry for the mixup."

I can't wait for the new slogan to be announced after these meetings, and hopefully during the meetings, every player can decide what slogan will be best and it's very important to me they all agree on the best possible one.

Gotta say that last night I certainly got the impression that the Hawks fans think Mike Woodson did a good job of getting that injury-riddled, very inexperienced team to thirty wins.

Mike Woodson and Billy Knight have given the Hawks a better future than the Pacers currently can expect, and the present version of the Hawks isn't really that much worse than the Pacers.
Why do the things that we treasure most, slip away in time
Till to the music we grow deaf, to God's beauty blind
Why do the things that connect us slowly pull us apart?
Till we fall away in our own darkness, a stranger to our own hearts
And life itself, rushing over me
Life itself, the wind in black elms,
Life itself in your heart and in your eyes, I can't make it without you

I would much rather be the Hawks then this mess of a team. We probably got the worst collection of talent in the NBA. If you took look at our roster on paper and other rosters across the NBA, I dont think one team would trade teams with us. Pathetic. Donnie Walsh and Larry Bird are amazing.

I can say I am very pleased Kegboy, that you will be representing us in the lottery. Good luck!

Sounds like big changes ahead. Change is good. About time this franchise recognizes it.

Considering all the changes the last 3 years that have gotten us where we are, I'm inclined to disagree.

Why some of you are so reluctant to believe there will be a coaching change is beyond me. I'm 100% convinced of it. There is no chance Rick will be coaching the Pacers next season.
