Lightbulb Rick Carlisle: Year IV - The Coach Comes Around

    "Hurt"

    I played Tinsley today
To see if he still cares
    I focus on the win
    The only thing that's real
The point guard lost his man
The bane of our team D
Try to coach it all away
    But nothing ever changes things

    [Chorus:]
    What have I become
    My Celtic friend
Every player I like goes away
    In the end
And you could have it all
    Sixty wins of dirt
    I will let you down
    I will make you hurt

I wear this card of plays
The time to sub is here
    Full of strategies
    All I have prepared
    Beneath the stains of time
    The rookies disappear
    They need someone else
    I should not stay here

    [Chorus:]
    What have I become
    My Celtic friend
Every player I like goes away
    In the end
And you could have it all
    Sixty wins of dirt
    I will let you down
    I will make you hurt

    If I could start again
    A million miles away
    I would keep my team
    I would find a way

    You're scaring me, Mal.

I wonder if Kermit the Frog can coach? Maybe we can help him out of his depression even as Rick sinks further in.

Nuntius was right. I was wrong. Frank Vogel has retained his job.

i cant deny that this is a great tune. you should send it to rick. i am sure he will get a kick out of the picture of him as the intro. i hope he stays but, it is still very funny which is really all you can hope for with this team now- having a few laughs and all.

I appreciate the comments; I actually put some time and thought into this.

I'm not necessarily endorsing the message, but I think there's truth to everything.

That's an instant classic for Pacers Fans. Do you have time on your hands or what?
Proudly supporting the Indiana Pacers since 1992.

Currently on the Darrell Armstrong, Mike Dunleavy, Jr., and Marquis Daniels bandwagons.

Am I the only guitar player who considered actually making a track of this, or should i just let it go?

But 1,000,000 bonus points for actually getting the reference! 99% of everyone thinks it's a "I'm a hick and proud of it", "my last name is Hicks", or "Hicks vs Knicks" reference. It's not.

So did you get the nickname from sitting at games going "We're gonna lose man! GAME OVER! There's no chance! They're F'd".

BTW, total sidebar but I had the Colts/Jets on NFL net today and Manning got sacked early on. My wife says "Throw the ball Mitch!"

She hates football and still nailed a classic. I'm using that reference all next season for every single sack.

"I was waiting for the CUE."
    "What cue?"
    "You tell me."

Of course you can go United Way sketch whenever a WR drops a pass instead. "I can't even look at you right now Marvin".

    LOL to Aliens...
"They mostly come at night, mostly..."

Maybe it's amnesia, but I'm not sure what happened to him at the end of the movie...?

He and Ripley are getting inside an elevator, just before the doors close, an Alien leaps in, holding the door ajar with it's arms. Hicks blasts it, but the acid blood sprays him, and he's incapacitated for the rest of the film.
