    Your political compass
    Economic Left/Right: -1.38
    Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -3.33

I've taken it before and couldn't swear where I stood then but this seems close. I don't care for some of the questions and how I imagine they're scored. Frex:

"A significant advantage of a one-party state is that it avoids all the arguments that delay progress in a democratic political system."

I strongly agree with that. But I'd never argue in favor of a dictatorship just on that basis - the negatives far outweigh the positives. Didn't care for the abortion question either. And too many questions termed in absolutes such as:

"What's good for the most successful corporations is always, ultimately, good for all of us." Change always to usually and it becomes a very different question.

But there's no such thing as a perfect evaluative tool.

EDIT: Just to compare with last time

    Economic Left/Right: -3.87
    Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -3.13

Guess I'm becoming more economically conservative with my old age.

I don't really consider myself big on politics because I find arguing with people who cannot be swayed from their opinion to be a waste of time.

I've always thought of myself as a centrist on many different issues. I'll have liberal views of one thing and conservative views of another.

    This time I scored:

    Economic Left/Right: -2.13
    Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -2.62

Last August (thanks Raskolnikov!) I scored:

    Economic Left/Right: -1.50
    Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -2.62

I still feel like I know little about economics, so the fact that I had to guess on at least one of those questions probably accounts for the difference.

Oops, didn't even post my own scores. Here is how mine panned out :
    Economic Left/Right: 0.13
    Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: 1.18

I agree with people that there are many flaws with this test, but I think it's the best thing out there right now.

Some of the questions need to be balanced with a neutral response. Also there are a couple with negatives, always try to avoid negatives in questions. Just my advice as a sociology grad student.
