    Default Place Your Bets

It's time to sign at the dotted line.

Will the Indiana Pacers reach the promiseland of:

A top 10 pick in the draft or
A seed in the 2007 playoffs

    or death valley:

    No playoffs and no pick

    ?

The question here is what you think will truly happen, not what you want to happen.

As much as I wnat to have the pick I see death valley. In the long run this may be better than the playoffs because not getting in the playoffs sends the message that changes must be made and we are in rebuilding mode. Making the playoffs lets tptb justify that they had some success.

I am looking to next season only.
    1. A trade that brings in a new PG
    2. A coach that ex-Pacers don't knock.
    3. Hopefully a healthy JO who gets some help, possibly from Marquis.
    4. Real improvement by DG, ID, and SW.
    5. Making Dun and Murphy bench players although I really like Dun lots more than Murph. Murph thinks that he needs to play hard every third game.
    6. Letting Foster be a bench player too. His lack of scoring is just too much of a burden although I really like him.
    7. A GM whose moves make sense to an average fan.

Obviously some of these things are not going to happen and may be mutually exclusive.
but that's what I want to see next year.

We'll have a better idea after the next 5 games, the last two of which are against the Nets and Magic.

The good thing tonight is the Nets play the Magic, so one of those teams has to win

Oh wait....is this asking what we want?

    or

is this asking what we think will happen?

If its the latter....then Death Valley ( I incorrectly chose Draft Pick ).

I think that TPTB will try to make the playoffs...win more then 4 games but fall short of the Playoffs and end up with nothing.
Ash from Army of Darkness: Good...Bad...I'm the guy with the gun.

This is David West, he is the Honey Badger, West just doesn't give a *****....he's pretty bad *ss cuz he has no regard for any other Player or Team whatsoever.

We have all been hoping and praying for one result or another. The question here is, what do you truly think is going to happen?

Death Valley, and the team needs to issue an apology to the fans at the end of the season for not playing anywhere near their capabilities. This "tank" is absolutely inexcusable.

I vote Death Valley, but that's no surprise. That's why I've been putting up the numbers. It's been looming for weeks now at least.

If only Dun could find his shot consistantly and Quis could get healthy. This team might have enough talent to beat ANY East team if they are functioning at a decent level (ie, they wouldn't have to all be at their best, just not mostly MIA).

Remember when they beat Detroit on the road. Why did TPTB have to mess with that? The phrase "out of the frying pan and into the fire" come to mind right about now.

Or lose. Sheesh Buck, get your mind right. I will bring a world of sunshine pain down on you.

It's bad, but they aren't eliminated yet.

I noticed the playoff pickers started pouring in after the win last night. Not saying they would have voted differently, but just found that interesting.

I do find it amazing how difficult it is to drop out of the playoff race. This conference used to be more competitive.

We wont really know til we see the next 5 games or so, but I think the Pacers will make the playoffs. The East is just that freaking bad.
