Great signing because it's basically a 1 year deal. Should Stallworth's hamstrings convert back to jello like they always do, we cut him in the next off season. Stallworth and Welker give us a decent #1 and #2 WR corps.
and the just got Kelly Washington. . . . . C'mon do something else.
“That’s one thing where I wish they would have handled better was the situation with Roy,” West said. “I’ll be honest with you, that bothered me a little bit, and I told Roy that. I’m the type of guy who feels like we’re all in this fight together and I’m not designed in that way to put it all on one guy. That did rub me the wrong way. That threw me off. I started reading some of that stuff, I started thinking, ‘Whoaa.’ I just didn’t feel good about that. I told Roy that it bothered me, that he’s still my teammate"
David West on leaving the Pacers
Of course, I don't think Kelly Washington is any good.
Ya know I just find it ironic that a fanbase that generally if you're a red sox fan you're a patriots fan as far as that area goes. For them to trash the yankees year after year for trying to "buy a championship" really look like a bunch of hypocrites at this point.
I'm not sure what you are insinuating by this post, but if you mean that the Patriots are "buying" a championship you are completely wrong. They had a TON of cap room this year and they are using it to sign marquee free agents. This is what happens when you go through a rebuilding season..which they did last year.
Also, NFL teams can't go over the salary cap unlike the MLB where you can go billions over as long as you pay the luxury taxes involved.
So far I've been completely stunned by the Pats moves this off-season. Usually, the Pats are bit players in free agency. They seem to prefer to bargain shop and bring in guys they like that might not necessarily the best players available, but are nonetheless great fits for their system and contribute. This offseason has been what amounts to a perfect storm for the Pats. They had a ton of cap room, there were great players available, and they were able to sell those great players on taking slightly less than market value for the chance to play with Brady and Belichick. It's obvious now that the Colts, Pats, and Chargers were the class of the AFC last year. Those three teams were so close that each could have beaten the other on any field. Now with these moves the Pats have edged themselves ahead even before taking into account the Colts free agent losses. And guess which team is the only one with two first round picks this year? The Patriots. They have always been smart up there, but those guys have pulled off genius level moves even by their own standards this off-season.
