Default PLEASE VOTE! - Seeding & Matchups listed in post #5

This is for members of the ABA league only.

I made this a private poll due to the nature of the question

When I checked the site on March 5th I found 10 owners that I considered, "inactive". Since then, 3 of those have logged onto the site.

    My question is.

Should owners that are not active be considered for the playoffs?

There are several teams that could be 7th or 8th seeds that have not been on the site in months. The 3 owners that I mentioned above should all make the playoffs as well, but none of them logged on for 5 to 6 weeks leading up to my "Playoff Format" thread.

Should they be dropped from the playoffs as well?

Or should we just leave things as they should be & the top 8 teams in each conference make the playoffs, reguardless of how active the owner has been?

Ok, I really think the teams with the best records should play. IF that means several teams with pretty in-active owners ... then so be it.

I know it sucks for the owners who have been (very) active, but unlucky due to injuries or who just hadn't picked the right team, but that's just the way it is.

I don't know, Mourning. When you're inactive, not setting your line-up for months, it's like you've dropped out of the competition, quit playing the game. So it would make sense to me to remove dead teams from the league come play-off time.

Not that I voted for the 2nd option or anything...

Well, that's true and I wouldn't mind it at all IF we were to use such a rule for the next season. But, rightnow a week away from the play-offs? Sorry, can't really aggree to it.

Furthermore, I think we should have a debate in the summer about the size of the ABA-league and who has "earned" his/her way out of it IF there aren't any "volunteers" to stop the league.

Another option, offcourse could be something like creating a 2nd ABA-league.

I just looked at the poll results.

7 people voted to drop the owners that remain inactive from the playoff race. As of now, thats what I plan on doing, unless I get some armed unrising against that move.

As of this morning, these are the seedings with projected W-L records:

    1. Burnzone --------- 20-0 Division winner
    2. Magic Rat -------- 17-3 Division winner
    3. Mourning --------- 16-4
    4. Displaced Knick --- 14-6
    5. Shade ----------- 10-10
    6. Los Angeles ------ 10-10
    7. Jay Redd ---------- 9-11
    8. Frank Slade ------- 7-13

    The matchups would be:

    Burnzone vs. Frank Slade
    Displaced Knick vs. Shade

    Magic Rat vs. Jay Redd
    Mourning vs. Los Angeles

In the other conference, the seeding would be:

    1. Raskolnivov ----------- 17-3 Division winner
    2. Life is Good ----------- 12-8 Division winner
    3. Boston Connection ---- 16-4
    4. Indy Toad ------------ 15-5
    5. Diamond Dave -------- 11-9
    6. Kerosene --------------10-10
    *. Number Seven
    *. Peck
    7. Jose Slaughter --------- 7-13
    8. Dr. Badd --------------- 5-15

Number Seven & Peck both have enough wins to make the playoffs but would be voted out due to their lack of participation.

    The matchups:

    Raskolnivov vs. Dr Badd
    Indy Toad vs. Diamond Dave

Life is Good vs. Jose Slaughter
    Boston Connection vs. Kerosene

With a 48 point lead, your injuries & Parker and Z only playing once more.... its a safe bet.

Either way, you're locked in at the 5 seed & I'm stuck at 7 (if I'm in at all).

Good job Jose. I like how you got them to vote you into the playoffs. Will you get a big gold * on the top of your championship trophy if you pull off the upset?

I'm just joking in case anyone takes this jab seriously.

To be honest, I look at it as a loose, loose situation.

Either 2 owners get in that havn't checked onto the site since Decmber or 2 guys get in that have just 12 wins between them.

Either way it will be one and done for what-ever two team get in at 7 & 8.

Actually Life is Good has a few new injuries. Jose might be able to squeek by him.
