Thread: This team is garbage

Harrington and Jax exercised poor judgement on and off the court at times. But they didn't lack passion. They have a lot of talent so its too bad we traded them for garbage. The garbage couldn't guard my grandmother in the post. She would abuse them. Sure the 2 new guys are choir boys but bird said a long time ago, we don't need a team of milk drinkers, but thats exactly what we have. The 2 new starters are two of the worst one on one defenders i've ever seen and when you put them in the starting line up with tinsley you are askin for trouble.

It turned out to be an awful trade. I've never been a harrington fan cause he's a choker and jax had to go as well but not for these jokers.

This team has no future unless they do something drastic. Forcing carlisle to the front office would be a start. I really think that HE may the root of all our problems. No one with talent can get along with him except for the anointed leader.

Dude but Mike Dunleavy moves ohh so swiftly with out the ball like a Ninja.

And the way Murphy BANGS the boards when no one is with in 10 feet of him, brings a tear to my eye.

This team lost its heart and soul when they traded Jack. I dont really care about Harrington cause he is POS. But Jack was our best defender and he had heart, at least he looked alive when he played. Mike Dunleavy looks like this is wool knitting 101.

All i read was how murphy is such a good rebounder and average defender

    Well, guess what?

    He's not a good rebounder

    He's a god-awful defender

That's why we call him Toy Murphy, because the opposition plays with him.

I'm back home after being gone and not watching a Pacers game for a while. However, I'm not ready to give up on this bunch. Have to watch a few more games to decide. Although, RC has been very close to the door of my doghouse the last year or two and I finally think he may have walked through it.

In all fairness, they weren't world beaters with Jackson either.

yeah but I didn't hear anyone here singing their praises either.

In the long run, nobody was going to be happy with either team. At least this one has a cleaner PR slate.

Who cares about the PR slate. I'm a fan of winning not PR slates. This is what is wrong with this teams fans they care more about how our team looks in the community then if they are playing good. Well I hope everybody is happy because as long as we got Dunleavy and Murphy on our team we wont be winning any more then 35 games a year.

No one was amazed by the play of the team before the trade, but I bet you if they got to play out that schedule in February, the Pacers would be one of the top 4 seeds right now. They played a real tough schedule the first few months and they somehow managed to stay above 500, this team would be the Celtics right now if they had to play out that schedule. When the Warriors came to our house and I seen Jack play with fire and trying to prove that they traded the wrong person, and I saw Dunleavy looking like he wants to be back at his moms house drinking warm milk, I knew this team was done. Him and Murphy got zero heart.

This team (IMHO) was destined to fall apart after the trade deadline because it is too flawed. The players know it, the coaches know it, and the fans know it (that it is seriously flawed). The looming trade deadline was the glimmer of hope, a light at the end of the tunnel, something for everyone to grasp onto and hold out for.

When it passed without even a whimper, I'm guessing what little steam was left went out the window.

Hard to argue about Dunleavy and Murphy. It's mind-boggling Dunleavy got so much cash from the warriors.

It's also hard to claim this team was going places with jackson, though. And like it or not, the community pretty much hated him.

When your fans are booing their own player, you gotta move the guy.

Which is why both players (who were both overpaid and both being booed by fans of their teams) were traded for each other. There was no downgrade, there was no upgrade.

I'm still pretty certain Ike was the Pacers #1 goal in the Warriors deal. They just had to take on Murphy and Dunleavy's excess salary to get him.

Ike is good when he has a weak defender on him. Thats when he is good. As soon as he has someone that is tall and a decent defender, Ike is pretty much useless then. He cant pass out of the post to save his life and he cant defend either, he needs a coach to develope him in the worst way.
