Thread: 02/27/2007 Game Thread 56: Pacers vs Suns

Well, we played poorly, but so did Phoenix.

Great sign= Phoenix without a 40 point quarter so far. They are under their season average. We've had really bad individual defense from Murphy and subpar from Granger, but our bigs don't have to cover for our PG, even though DA has been burned a couple of times.

We need a whole new PG suite.

Any coincidence that we're playing better with Murphleavy on the bench?
I think Dunleavy is playing well. Haven't heard much from Murph since that first dunk. All in all, I think the TEAM is just playing better in general. Of course a few individuals could play better, but all in all a solid showing tonight

Wow didnt expect this at all. Now, lets not blow it in the 2nd half like we did against the Kings...(i just dont want to get my hopes up and then be all pissed off again.)

Watching O'Neal is awesome. You can see in the way he doesn't hesitate tonight...reminds me of late 2001/early 2002 when he really poured it on.

I really think that JONeal had a stern talkin to the kids after that embaressing loss against the Kings. Just by looking at the score...I'm guessing that we are actually playing some defense....which is much better then NO Defense like the last couple of games.

Are we playing Slow-ball or up-tempo?

If we play Slow-ball...we may actually have a chance to not get embaressed at home AGAIN.

I have to post this quick because it halftime and I don't which Pacer team will show for the second half.

I like this team. I wish they would play like this every night game. These guys have energy and desire tonight. It looks like DW and Bird traded the whole team for these guys.

I hope they continue this and pull out the win tonight.

I don't think we played very poorly. I think we played some good team defense despite leaving them open a few times for jump shots. At first I was thinking our defense was better because Tinsley wasn't playing, but then I looked a little further into it, and it seems that our team defense has just stepped up. DA isn't doing any better a job on Nash than Tinsley would have.

I have a feeling that maybe either Larry, Donnie, or JO after that kings game had a..."heart-felt conversation" with the rest of the people on this team, mix that in with the fact that nobody wants to be embarassed and I think it was all the inspiration they needed.

Ok now we just need to make sure we dont have a repeat of Sunday's 3rd quarter.

Question for Indiana residents: Is Quinn Buckner a normal play-by-play guy there? Hes some sort of guest commentator alongside Dan Majerle and Eddie Johnson on the Suns feed here in Phoenix. I tell you its sure better than listening to the normal crap the Suns commentators spew out nonstop.

Quinn and Eddie Johnson switched places for a few minutes. Quinn is our regular commentator with Chris Denari doing play-by-play.

The commentaters said Tinsley is out with an injury. Did his feelings get hurt again? I haven't heard why yet.

If this truly happened....and given some of our Post-Game observations about JONeal's demeanor on Sunday....I really hope that it was JONeal that talked to the team.

JONeal probably yelled at him so much after the Kings game that he came down with Sinus-out-is.

Oh yeah I have no doubt that Jermaine can take the role of "leader" on this team, but the fact that team is LISTENING to him would be even better than him giving that conversation. So yeah I hope it was JO.

Phoenix is going to look to get to the line and get O'Neal in foul trouble. Then they're going to try to get Stoudemire going so they can open up for a shooting frenzy.

I agree...I just get the sense that they would respond more to a PO'd JONeal more then they would a PO'd Carlisle or Bird.

The only ones that I could see not responding is Tinsley and Foster since they have been on the roster the longest next to him.
