Default Dallas Clark ejected from HS game

    By Mark Alesia Indianapolis Star

Indianapolis Colts tight end Dallas Clark was ejected from a girls' high school basketball game Saturday in Burnside, Iowa, apparently for something he said to an official.

The incident occurred in a state playoff game between Clark's alma mater, Twin River Valley, and host Southeast Webster-Grand. Dan Grandfield, principal of Southeast Webster-Grand, said Clark was signing autographs and taking pictures with fans before he moved to a seat near court level. Grandfield said he thinks it was after the third quarter that an official, Rich Collison, directed him to eject Clark from the building.
"(Clark) said something like, 'Your partners stink,' so Mr. Collison said, 'I want him out of here,'" Grandfield said. "Nobody even noticed. He was sitting by the gym door.

"I don't know if he said something before that. Dallas gets into the game. He supports his school. It was a good game, a heated game. But we have fans who say a lot worse things than that."

    Southeast Webster-Grand won 65-52.

Clark, 27, who lives in Iowa City, did not immediately return a message left on his cell phone.

That is too funny.... getting ejected for telling the ref he stinks.

Conseco would be empty by the mid way point of the third quarter most nights....

In the updated story in this morning's Star, it says Dallas knows the ref. Apparently the ref had coached something with Dallas' brother.

I'm guessing the guy thought it was pretty funny........

Indianapolis Colts tight end Dallas Clark was ejected from a high school girls basketball game Saturday in Burnside, Iowa, for comments he made to officials from the stands.

The incident occurred between the third and fourth quarters of a state playoff game between Clark's alma mater, Twin River Valley, and host Southeast Webster-Grand.

Mike Dick, associate director of the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union, said after speaking to the official who ejected Clark that the Colts player made "several inappropriate comments," none of which were threatening or obscene.

"He said the officials were terrible and he called an official by his name, which is not the best thing to do," Dick said. "He made a reference to them being 'brutal' at one point. It was all during a dead ball. The officials were right in front of him and they had enough."

Clark's brother once coached with the official who ejected Clark, said Don Hasenkamp, principal at Twin River Valley.
Dan Grandfield, principal of Southeast Webster-Grand, said he escorted Clark into the hall without incident. He said the crowd didn't even notice what happened because they were close to the gym door.

Earlier, Grandfield said, Clark signed autographs and posed for pictures with fans.

"Dallas gets into the game," Grandfield said. "He supports his school. It was a good game, a heated game. But we have fans who say a lot worse things than that."

Hasenkamp said Clark's wife, Karen, watched the rest of the game from the stands while her husband waited in the hall.

"I talked with Dallas (afterward)," Hasenkamp said. "He said, 'It was nothing. I know the guy.' . . . Everyone around here who knows Dallas was shocked that he was even asked to leave."

    Southeast Webster-Grand won 65-52.

Clark, 27, who lives in Iowa City, did not return a message left on his phone.
