Stemler went up too quickly and had zero chance to get off any kind of shot there. He should have done a quick pump fake IMO.

I'm now officially worried about this team, probably for the first time this season. Though I'm sure we were tired from the quick turnaround, we still shouldn't lose to Michigan.

If Purdue and Michigan end up on the bubble, they can both thank us for putting them there.

They are in my eyes, and I'm a fan!!! They can't win on the road! They've beat PSU and UCONN on the road???!!! Just about everyone in the big 10 wins at home!

At 1st it was cool, b/c there losses on the road were quality. Now they've loss to Iowa, UM, Illinois and Purdue on the road! And they still have road games left, and only 17 wins!

Good thing they have wins over Wizzy and Southern Ill.
    And some quality losses
Three more wins and IU is a mortal lock. Two more and they're still damn close.

The only way IU ends up on the bubble is if they only win once more the rest of the season.

That is about as far from the truth as you can get. The only way IU ends up being a bubble team is if they tank the remaining games. The next 4 games are a split AT WORST which would leave IU 9-7, 19-10 with a fairly strong SOS and the wins over SIU and UConn.
I know! I'm was just blowing off some steam... I think I've settled down now! Sorry for my outrage!

I don't know, losing to UM means IU isn't the "quality win" it was a couple days ago.

In which case, that could keep Purdue out. Win-win.

Nah I get mad too! I'm not all too happy at the moment. BUT...I guess I've gotten better at keeping things in perspective as I've gotten older.

It kills me to admit it but IU just isn't quite as good as they looked when they were sitting up there at 6-2 in the Big Ten after the Wisconsin game. Losing 3 of 4 games since then, it really disappoints the hell out of me. Gotta be able to win some road games in this league. As it stands right now, IU is looking at 2-6 on the road AT BEST if they can beat Northwestern and that isn't a given either.

But it has still been a pretty positive season for IU overall and the I feel great about the future with Kelvin Sampson at the helm.

Nah, Butler was lucky to win the first one. IU would win in a rematch, not a doubt in my mind.

Okay, i might hate jarret smith as much if not more than most U-M fans, but in no way am I going to chant "Jarret sucks" at a home game...

Seriously though, the guy shouldn't even be playing at a community college. Amaker should be fired just for giving him a scholarship, let alone starting him.

    GO BLUE!!!

Ah the sweet sound of a cow bell.

So, tell me Kstat...how do you really feel about Jarret Smith? Kinda sounds like man-love to me.. Well, at least he hasn't called "time-out" during the waning seconds of the NCAA lately.

What's the feeling about Ameker around AA these days? (honest curiosity)

We win 3 of the next 4 we're in - that's a 20 win team and 9-7 in the conf. If we can't do that, we shouldn't go anyway.

And no, IU's not even close to the bubble right now.

This from the same person that said the Colts should get rid of Tony Dungy.

Butler has beaten some decent teams, but lately they've been feasting on Cupcake Central. The only decent teams they've played of late, they've lost to. One of them at Butler.

Butler was very fortunate to win the first game against IU, as IU choked it away as much as Butler took it away. Not to mention the Butler 3 that clinched it missed so badly that it actually banked in.

If both teams are playing at the top of their games, IU wins with relative ease.

Seriously, can anyone explain to me what is so "evil" about a bank shot? In my day it was called a "Bankboard" rather than a backboard. And just like the underhand free-throw, there are some players that would benefit if they'd learn to use it more.

    Ollie McClellan did!

Certain bankshots, like the one in question, are simply lucky shots that go in because the shooter missed his mark so badly. That's why it's looked down upon, because very few shooters actually try to bank in shots like those.

We all want him gone, but we wanted him gone LAST year too, and the athletic department clearly doesn't care about basketball anyway. They'll settle for a guy that will keep the program out of trouble, even if he is the dumbest coach on the planet.

I don't want Tommy to ruin Udoh like he ruined Harris and Petway.

It wasn't about being the team everyone loved, it was about beating the teams everyone else loved.

It was such a horrid loss that Butler went all the way from 13th to 15th. Maybe I need glasses because I can't seem to find IU in the rankings.

If both teams are playing at the top of their games, IU wins with relative ease.
If I stuck to a diet and exercized I'd be a size 4. I'm not sure which is more likely to happen.
