Ok well I could give a number of spots in Hendricks County west of Indy.

But as far as Indy goes, Butler I believe has some good spots, and
Rhodius Park of off Belmont located on the near westside is a good sledding spot .

    Why Not Us ?

I'm pretty sure the Butler hill is no longer there. I think they're building dorms on it.......

Fort Harrison State Park says it has one of the biggest sledding hills in the area, but I know nothing about it.....

There's a great spot at Otis Park in Bedford.

Just make sure you don't sled down the limestone steps and make sure you hit the bridge at the bottom of the hill.

I don't recall Indy having many good sledding hills. Its too flat. Got to get past Martinsville.

i havent been out there in snowy weather, but if they are reffering to their trails, then that would definately be worth checking out.

Decent hill just west of Eagle Creek Reservoir, on the north side of 56th St.
I was thinking about going there today myself.

In the old days, they used to let you slide down the 13th hole at Riverside, enter from Cold Springs Road, north of 30th St.

And believe it or not there used to be and I bet still is a concrete tobaggon run down the 14th tee at Coffin. Well it used to be the 14th tee, it's in the Iron Skillet parking lot. SE corner of 30th & Cold Springs.

Both of the golf course hills are plenty steep.

Oh yeah, the hills at Coffin/ Riverside are pretty steep. Good call.

Never thought about sledding there, though. Heck, even when I golfed there, I often wandered why I was purposely driving down 29th/ 30th streets, even in broad daylight.

I've played a LOT of golf at both these courses, even worked at one.
My favorite "off the course" shots --
    (1) Stood on the 14th tee at Coffin looking down the fairway parallel to 30th St. Hooked the snot out of it, across 4 lanes of traffic, across Soapbox Derby Hill, and onto...........Riverside Golf Course.
    (2) Very long par 4 at Coffin, #3 it used to be, about 475 yds along Cold Springs Rd. Faded it into the street, it rolled and rolled and rolled, then curved back onto the course past that big ravine. 440 yd drive, had a little chip to the green.

If you're on the near southside, Garfield Park has a pretty steep hill just south of Raymond St. near Pleasant Run Blvd.

Of course, there's also "forbidden sledding", which involved jumping a fence, possibly barbed wire, to sled down the interstate embankment. I will say to watch out for broken glass, however. I have a 2" scar on my hand from where I tried to stop my sled one time.

SE of town on Prospect St. out in Warren Twp. but cannot remember the name. It is now a city park used just for that...sledding.

Never played Coffin.....played Riverside but I'm not really good enough to do that...people tend to get cranky if you shoot over 100...as I generally do.

The one you're thinking about is Paul Ruster park. Here's a list of all the "approved" sledding parks in the city:

Thanks for all the suggestions ... we ended up going to Beech Grove Park. The park stays open until 10PM. They had some really decent hills there .. and quite a few people showed up. It was a real good time.

Here's another vote for Paul Ruster Park, already mentioned by indygeezer and eindar.

I'm pretty sure it is the best hill in Marion County.
And I won't be here to see the day
It all dries up and blows away
I'd hang around just to see
But they never had much use for me
    In Levelland. (James McMurtry)
