Am I the only one who didn't think that ventriloquist was really that good?

I think I saw that ventriloquist a decade ago, he wasn't good then either

EDIT: Aren't we nearing the point where ventriloquism is a dead form of comedy, much like mimes and clowns with dogs? This guy was obviously very, very good at the actual act of ventriloquism, but it just lacked something.

I like how Dave tried to bait him into saying something negative about Rex Grossman

I chuckled at that, Manning did not bite, he has a lot of class.

I thought he was going to be OK until he got the second dummy out and then things just fell flat.

I remember watching a ventriloquist once that had a pretty good act. At least the finish was good. As most of them do, he and the dummy argued over the ventriloquist's role and whether the dummy needed him. After a while the ventriloquist then ended his routine by 'telling' the dummy that if he wanted to go it alone then fine bye him. He was out of there. "Thank you, everybody..." So he set the dummy on the bar stool onstage in a heap and the crowd cheered thinking the routine was over (and he had been funny). The ventriloquist left the stage. Then as the cheers faded, the dummy (by itself) straightened up and said "I thought he'd never leave".

And on the subject at hand... I think Peyton handled the interview very well. I was disappointed that Dave didn't have him throwing footballs at a cab tho...

Nuntius was right. I was wrong. Frank Vogel has retained his job.

Peyton did himself, his family, the Colts and the whole State proud. Class act all the way around.

Reggie always does a great job on Letterman too.

I was kind of suspecting he would do that as well. And he had Vandershank kick FG's after the loss last year. I guess you only do that when you don't win ?

I know he didn't take the bait, but did you see the look on his face? He was trying so hard not to say anything and he had a very funny sheepish look on his face. Peyton wanted to make a joke about it so bad.

I love David Letterman, always have.

My favorite part was when Peyton was talking about how everyone said he needed to score on that final drive agaisnt the Pats to cement his legacy. He said (paraphrased):

"So, what if NE runs the punt back and scores a TD (after we took the lead with 1:00 left)? Does that mean I'm then the same bum I've always been?"

That would mean the refs screwed the Colts making them punt after a score rather than a kickoff. We'd probably find that is a special rule, similar to the 'tuck rule', for when you score on NE in the final 2 mins of a AFC Championship game in Indianapolis after 3PM.

    And very media savy.

I think that rule is on the same page as the Colts' "special rule" concerning turnovers against the Steelers.

Except for the fact that he never mentioned his wife. Not a very smart thing to do the day before Valentine's Day.
