    Default Simple suggestion: new sub-forum

With all the gripping and consternation about the "big brother" feel of having threads moved, why don't we simply create a new sub-forum similar to the ones that were created for trade rumors and that Robo dude. The new sub forum could be titled "NBA off court" and could contain all of the news(?) items related to NBA players that happens off the court. This would capture the recent Pacers skirmish, Artest and his dogs, the openly gay former player, etc. In this way, we could keep the primary NBA on court forum - called "Pacers" clean of only discussion of items that happen on the court including player and coaching performances.

    Just my 2cents.

I have no issue with you moving them, other than I never check that forum. Nor do I dislike the idea of a sub forum. It is all good.

Except how much do you want to dilute the main forum? The idea with Robo Hicks having his own forum (I thought) was because he was so busy during the NBA season posting articles (many could be duplicates) and not always anything new or all that interesting.... so it would clutter the main forum with redundant news stories. OTOH, I thought it was encouraged to bring the relevant ones over to the main forum for discussion.

And where do you draw the line about on court vs off court? Is it just the bad off court stuff that goes there? Is it only Jamaal? Is it just this incident? Do medical reports go there? What about talking about a radio or TV report? How about trades? Media rumors? What about questions about ticket promotions? Do some posters have more leeway than others in picking which forum to use and it remaining unmoved?

IMHO the sub forum is just the best of the bad ideas. There was only one proper answer and that should've started with leaving things alone entirely, with the option to merge threads to reduce any potential clutter.

    IMHO...

Nuntius was right. I was wrong. Frank Vogel has retained his job.

But not open to leaving things alone and putting them back the way they were?
