    Default Austin goes OFF

34 PTS IN 24 MINS with 7 REBS and 7 OF 10 FROM 3 Pt land.

I feel bad, but he's really the only ex recent Pacer I've been really happy to see have a great game.

I'm with you on this one.

What a night: Pacers win, Warriors lose, and Cro goes off for 34. If only Artest had done something stupid publicly today.

    Nice!

He was due for a good game. Well done, Austin.
Welcome to Pacers Digest! New around here? Here are three tips for making the forum a great place to talk about Pacers basketball.

    • Log in. Even if you want to read instead of post, it's helpful because it lets you:
    • Change your signature options. You can hide all signatures by choosing "Settings" (top right) then "General Settings" (middle left) and unchecking the box "Show Signatures" (in the "Thread Display Options" area).
    • Create an ignore list. I know it may seem unneighborly. But you're here to talk about the Pacers, not argue with someone who's just looking for an argument. Most of the regular users on here make use (at least occasionally) of the "Ignore" feature. Just go to "Settings" -> "Edit Ignore List" and add the names.

Veteran Austin Croshere, the longest-tenured Pacers player on the roster, has proven reliable when called upon, invariably ready to step in regardless of the circumstance.

If he were willing to sign back with us for the vet's minimum, would you take him back?

Yeah, I'm betting he gets 3-4 mil per next year to be a lower-tier team's sixth man.

Good for Austin, I have always liked him as a player. I do think we made a good trade though.

I've always liked Croshere, too. But I'm wondering, "Where the he!! was those 34 pts all the while he was here?"

Count me as someone who is:

    1. Happy for Austin
    2. Not surprised
    3. Not impressed

He did this often with the Pacers. That is, putting up a great show every once in a while, and then fading to mediocrity. It took him half a season to have a good (great) game.

I was really wishing that we could find a way to S&T Austin after his 2000 playoff version of this Dallas game. His value is "streaky". Sometimes he almost looked worth his contract. Other times, it makes sense he's averaging around 3 ppg with Dallas.

I appreciate what he gave us here, but I wouldn't want here over anyone on our current roster ('cept Harrison).
    Just my opinion

Brutal. And funny, because it's exactly right.

maragin's take is correct, as well. Not surprising at all... Austin's got at least 3 of those games in him per year. This was one.

I'm also happy for Cro. Wow, 34pts! WTG. But I also know Cro enough to know he's streaky as hell. But having him at the vet min, that wouldn't be soo bad now would it?

Happy for Austin. He always has one of these games at some point in the year. It's kind of upsetting that he never ammounted to much after 2000..but what should we really expect.
