The four players acquired in the trade with Golden State on Wednesday – Troy Murphy, Mike Dunleavy, Ike Diogu and Keith McLeod - went through their first practice with the Indiana Pacers today.
“I’m excited to be with this team and do some great things in the Eastern Conference,” said Murphy, who played at Notre Dame. “I just can’t wait to get going.”
The Pacers, who have dropped three straight games, sent Stephen Jackson, Sarunas Jasikevicius, Josh Powell and Al Harrington to Golden State.
Murphy, Dunleavy and Diogu are expected to play against the New York Knicks on Saturday, but McLeod will spend the next couple of weeks on the on the inactive list with an abdominal injury.
“It’s going to keep him out for a while,” Pacers coach Rick Carlisle said. “I’m not sure how long.”
