Richard Jefferson is out for the forseeable future (he's having ankle surgery). The Nets were heating up. I wouldn't be surprised if they end up making a trade offer for Dunleavy. Their division is up for grabs and there's no way they make it without Jefferson AND Kristic.
Not sure what NJ would have to offer, though (I'm assuming they have zero interest in trading Marcus Williams), asides from a draft pick.
What team is going to give us enough value (players) for us to give up Jermaine and THEN let him walk?
Maybe these are the new Clippers in a new era since they made the playoffs last year but that sounds like something the clippers team of the old days would do. They are once again underachieving and still have the same owner. Maybe frustration has set in and he's ready to blow up his team again.
I can't see JO being traded without seeing how well he fits in with the new players. Hell, we may have a contender right now. The only thing holding us back now is a consistent Tins. If he can refrain from attempting to single-handedly taking over the game, maybe that problem is solved.
A straight up trade for KG works for me, but the Twolves will want someone packaged with JO, although their salaries are only about $3 million apart so it'll have to be in a throw-in or two, which I don't think Kevin would accept.
From what I'm hearing Donny and Larry are watching closely from now till the deadline. Slow as molasses Donny has to hold Larry back, but yes they are looking for more depth in the backcourt. Jamaal will have to perform or he could well be headed out .
The performance of Ike Diogu and his development is another thing to keep an eye on. Maceo Baston's play and David Harrison's potential are both possible fillers in any move . If Troy Murphy performs as Bird expects and Ike shows he's ready Jeff Foster could be moved but things have to point to Diogu being ready now.
Bird wants to be aggressive while Donnie is holding back , but good chance a move will be made by the deadline- key is if and how fast this new version clicks. If and when Bird takes over you'll not see the same slow reaction as you do with Donnie , Larry will act and hopefully wisely he doesn't have Walsh's patience.
