Default Post Game Thread- Pacers first 3 game win streak of the year

    JO and Tins played great.

Defense was horrible in the first qtr, it was as bad it had been the whole year, but they came back and fought hard for the win.

Jermaine O'Neal is a warrior, didnt check the numbers yet but I bet he got like 22 and 15 on that bad ankle of his.

Jamaal too, thats the kind of Jamaal that was my 2nd favorite player.

Nice win, three in a row is a start. JO is simply playing great ball. We must get him some real help in here soon, if we want to play for a title!

Danny and Runi played well off the bench too! Let's take care of the Mavs Friday!

We need to come back and get some revenge on the Mavs one bad quarter from Jamal and we lose the game. I do know one thing we play half as bad as we did tonight and we'll lose by 20+ against the mavs. In the meantime I'll be wishing death on Dirk in the meantime to make our situation sssslightly easier.

I got home from work to see the following:

Pacers up 6, but building on the lead, eventually stretching it to 18 before #32, #11, and #1 re-enter the game, (causing) the lead dwindling to 8 before #32 is replaced, and the lead taken back out to the win.

I also saw that Green Guy (spacing on his name...) go up for a dunk after a whistle and blow his knee (and miss the dunk). I do send my best wishes because when knees bend like that, it's often very bad. But, he's got to feel like a fool right about now.

Good win, and a good little win-streak now. Who wants to take the over/under on 3 more, making it 6 straight?

JO is awesome. Why doesn't he get any MVP talk? I haven't seen a whole lot of the rest of the league, but man JO is on a different level.

Props to JO for grinding it out and leading us to our 3rd straight. Jamaal, Jeff, Danny, Stephen, and Sarunas all had pretty solid games as well.

Wait, I want to add to this. If 'charges taken' was recorded like the rest of the formal stats (assists, steals, etc), JO would be getting plenty of MVP talk.

#1 came in with JO when the lead went down. He didnt comein with #11 and 32. It is also not #11's fault that #32 cant shoot. Al Harrington was responsible for us losing the lead. Not only did he miss 3-4 straight shots on offense, but Leon Powe killed him on the other end too.

Yes that Leon Powe, the Leon Powe I talked about all summer asking for us to draft, yay James White.

Leon is going to be a nice player. I'd rather have him over Maceo.

Way to go and erase my post Shade. LMAO

Well what I said was - Jermaine O'Neal is the best player in the NBA, and Jamaal Tinsley had a great game. And the Pacers won.

Defense was horrible in the 1st qtr, but it improved.
JO is a warrior playing on a bad ankle and having a type of game, people dont get on their best night.
I restored it. One of the perks of being a mod.

Very encouraging to see them put the hammer down after a strong run by the Celtics in the 4th. Maybe, just maybe, we are starting to see some signs of a killer instinct. We have got to beat teams like this - no excuses.

As one of Jamaal's biggest critics, I need to commend him on an excellent game (although some of his defense was just horrible and baffling at times especially early) I'd love to know the Pacers record when Tinsley gets over 8 assists in a game.

I feel bad for Tony Allen, I saw Doc's press conference and it is likely an ACL injury and of course my thoughts go back 6 years ago almost to the day when AL blew out his ACL on that court. Just when Allen was starting to look like a real player he gets injured. I hate injuries - that is the worst thing about sports to me

Pacers have now won 5 out of 6 on the road and the loss was at Dallas where the Pacers had a lead into the 4th quarter. I don't want to get too excited, but I always look at a teams road record as a better indicator as to what type of team you really have. The only teams with more road voctories than the Pacers are the Pistons, Mavs, Spurs, Suns - that is very impressive.

Pacers don't play a back to back game for three and a half weeks then they don't play another one for 4 weeks. 15 of their next 20 games are at home.

Like I said I don't want to get too excited. JO is hurting as is JT - but the pacers could be several games over .500 by March first. There is no reason not to believe the Pacers being 10 or 11 games over .500 by March 1st. Looking at the schedule I see no reason that the pacers can't go 13 - 7 over the next 20 games - that would put them 11 over .500

I don't want to get too excited, but there are some signs.

Or let me say this, the Pacers have a real opportunity over the next 7 weeks to make something out of this regular season. Of course the first three weeks of March is brutal. Road games at S.A, Houston, Cleveland, Utah, Sunss, Clipper, Kings, T-Wolves.

The scary thing is, we're only 3 games out of first place. If we start to go on a run soon we could take the East.

Baby steps. 3 in a row against very bad teams, but 2 were on the road and beating bad teams is this teams biggest problem. Granger was real good the last 2 nights and tonight helped offset Al's stinker of a game. Good Jamaal found his way into the gym and had his second double figure assist game of the season. The more he shows up the more we win. (Would be fun to watch all of our guys on at the same time, and see how good this team could really be.)

These Pacers always show up for the elite and compete so let's see if we can really keep the momentum rolling with a win against the Mavs.

I was going to quote Jermaniac's post and make a[nother] sarcastic response, but I think I have run out of sarcasm for this evening.

Great win for the Pacers (I have probably only seen a dozen win so any win is nice) but man the team did look extra sloppy at times. With that said a win is a win

(Oh, and I do feel bad for Allen. Even though I hate when NBA players go for a dunk or shoot the rock after the ref blows the whistle)

I will repeat what I said about Tinsley in the game thread:

My relationship with Tinsley reminds me of my relationships with some of girlsfriends.

Some days I cant stand him and wish I could live without having to deal with him, and other days I want to lock him up for the rest of my life

(not literally, I mean a lifetime contract)

I really wish we did not have to worry about which one would show up, Tinsley or Mel-Mel The Abuser.

This is OT but Al Jefferson (is that his name?) chose #7 because of Jermaine O'neal. The big boy understands the Jermaineisms

I was thinking about that too (thought I think it was Jan. 2002). They even carried him off the court like they did Al (and Al was crying).

Finally a relieving win. The Celtics were very shorthanded, but we won when there could've been a let down. And it was on the second of back-to-back on the road.

At 20-16, we now have a better road record than the first place Cavs. And we've played six more games on the road than at home.

Last year we were 20-16 at this time and in 2004-5 we were 19-17.

If we keep injuries to a minimum, we're going to be an extremely dangerous playoff team this year. I don't think there's one team in the East that we can't match up against and beat in a 7 game series.
