    Default Trade Sarunas Jasikevicius

He is suffering here. He doesn't deserve this abuse from his coach or his teamates. He is an awsome player who needs a new place to be reborn into the true superstar he really is.

He'll be a superstar if we "trade" him to the NBDL.

Otherwise, he can be a adequate backup for us, if we keep him.

I supposed next you'll be asking us to trade him somewhere where nobody will defend him ......

... but we can't trade him back to Europe.

First off, we can't trade with European league teams.
Secondly, we might need his fire power if Jackson goes to jail.

Also, I like the guy, and certainly don't want to trade him away for Melvin Ely! We should get at least a 7th or 8th man, and I don't think Ely is that on this team.

    Damnit! Beaten to the punch!

Baston is a 7th or 8th man and Ely is better then him.

A bunch of haters thats what you are. Even the fans here disrespect him here. I would be so happy to see him go to a better place. Truely pathetic on the part of the whole pacers organization.

This is obviously one of those "fan the flames" threads.

I wouldn't trade Sarunas. He's just in a slump right now. Seems he worked himself out of it tonight against the Hawks.

    Stat Line: 18:23 MIN; 4-6 FGA (8 pts), 0-1 3PA; 0-0 FT; Rebs: 2 Off/1 Def; 2 Asst; 3 TO

I think he did pretty good tonight.

A quick look at the stats tells me that Baston is more like the 10th man (behind Foster, Marquis, Sarunas, Daniels and even Armstrong on the bench - I guess that would make him 11, but whatever)...Plus, I believe we got Baston to keep Sarunas happy, and it would be foolish to have the former without the latter.

    Jeff Foster is a starter.
And you counted Quis twice. Maceo is the 3rd guy off the bench.

IMO, if the admins are truely sick of this kind of thing like I am, they should lock this thread.

See, that's the mistake I hoped you wouldn't catch. But come on, you wouldn't really pull the trigger on this deal would you? From either side?

Yeah I would. Ely is a big dude, who can score in the post and grab some boards. We could really use him when JO goes to the bench.
Bobcats need a PG and Saras can go over there and play 25 minutes or whatever he wants I could care less.

Isn't he injury-prone? And how old is the friggin' guy? He can't be that much better than Maceo that we'd lose Sarunas and put Maceo on the pine for the rest of the year...Let's face it, Maceo has little to no trade value, so he'd be useless after this trade, wouldn't he?

Dat Dude will say he's useless now, but y'all know what I'm saying right?

I suppose Saras would fit much better in Phoenix, where he could run fast breaks and wouldn't be expected to play any defense.

But he isn't a superstar --much less a starter-- in the NBA. In Europe, sure. But not in the NBA. On any team.

Didn't they just trade for...Jeff McGinnis! Oh god, that's not a good argument, so forget that.

But they already have Felton and Brevin Knight (when he's not injured), so I'm not sure. Maybe at shooting guard, but don't they play Wallace/Morrison or that other white guy with a propensity for throwing up three-pointers?

Sarunas played very well tonight. Props to him. Anyone else though think four point guards getting playing time isn't going to work? If I'm not mistaken, I just heard Jamaal on the post game show wishing he had gotten more minutes in tonight's game.

I think the guy is a winner and would rather be with a winner and get 10 minutes a game than play 25 for a bottom-feeding team with "a bright future". I think his main thing is getting a consistent 10 mnutes, which is a difficult thing for Carlisle given the rotation and not made any easier by Sarunas' difficulties on the defensive end.

Well, I'd have to agree with you here, and Sarunas looks to be the most tradeable point guard we have (Tinsley, as the starter, we cannot trade just yet). But for Ely!? I'll pass. I'd much rather do a two-for-one for someone better.

Jamaal is hurt, I think Rick was resting him for tomorrow.

i would have agreed with you, except that the discussion has morphed into a saras-for-ely trade, which i think is legit

i think the trade is ok. saras is in the rotation and helps our perimeter shooting, but let's be honest, he's not the difference between making the playoffs or not. taking a half-year chance on ely is worth it, imo, just for future flexibility. it does worry me that the nets (who need frontcourt help much more than we do) passed on melvin ely when they had the chance.

however, the deal doesn't work in realgm's trade checker, due to ely's byc status. i'm guessing also that neither the bobcats nor ely himself would agree to the deal (ely can veto trades)

All good points, but don't forget MIKKI MOORE! Ok, actually I take it back - despite a couple good games here and then he's rather forgettable...though he's just as good as Ely.

Why are some people so high on him? I just don't see it? Sing it:
There's something....there's just something about Melvin.
