I don't doubt it, the Nets aren't doing well and Rod Thorne doesn't wait too long to make moves. But was there an article about this

Were you thinking about posting a source to go along with this information?

    Thorn mulls next Net move
    BY MITCH LAWRENCE
    DAILY NEWS SPORTS WRITER
    Friday, January 5th, 2007

The most disappointing team by far in the Atlantic Division takes the court tonight for the first time in 2007, hoping that it will not be not a continuation of the last two months of 2006.
But Nets president Rod Thorn freely admits that he doesn't know if his underachieving 13-18 club - already with nine losses in games they led with six minutes left - is finally going to get its act together starting tonight against Chicago.

Thorn traded for backup swingman Bernard Robinson on Wednesday. But that could be only the first deal for the Nets before the Feb.22 trading deadline.

According to one Western Conference executive, "The Nets are trying to do everything they can" to make a move that will jumpstart their season." The executive said that they would even deal Jason Kidd if the right trade came along, although his age and contract make him difficult to move. Vince Carter has the most appeal, although he can opt out of his contract after this season. Carter's name has been linked to the Clippers, who are trying to move Corey Maggette and Cuttino Mobley. But the Nets don't see them as a sufficient upgrade.

"What normally transpires between Jan. 15 and the trading deadline is that a lot of teams figure out, 'We're not what we thought we were,'" Thorn said. "But this year, it's taken teams longer because everybody in the Eastern Conference - and I'm even including Philadelphia - has a chance, particularly in our division."

That could be it. Maybe he's trying to sell kids and Jimmy Carter and he's spamming the board. I couldn't tell.

Come on! Like you weren't all thinking it!

I think we should trade Al Harrington and Jeff Foster for Vince Carter. That way when Carter starts having 30fga nights for less than 30 points, people can complain how we traded Ron Artest, a 2007 1st round pick, and Jeff Foster for Vince Carter.

Vince Carter is simply THE player that we need.
    Is a dream for me.

But I think the Nets want a big man, a good rebounder...
...and we can't trade Jeff Foster
    Sorry for my English!!

The team doesn't need a SG nearly as bad as it needs a PG anyway. I'd consider Tinsley/Foster for Kidd, even at this stage of his career. Jack can be controlled on his shooting a little, and you can always go with Daniels instead, even Saras at times.

It depends on who we could trade Carter for in a sign and trade deal when he won't re-up here after the season. Heck, I wouldn't want them to re-sign him anyway.

I love trade talks because people overvalue players so drastically. You must be joking Seth.

Kidd would teach this team how to run. Forget Carter, we need to make a serious push for Kidd. His age doesn't matter because it's not as if Tinsley is the PG of the future here, we need to draft or sign another PG anyway.

Jeez...do we hafta go through this all again? We don't have what teams want. No picks, no expiring deals, no particularly good contracts, no young studs aside from Danny.

Even if Thorn has been told to "blow it up and start getting ready for Brooklyn" (which I doubt), we still aint got the chips.

If NJ/Brooklyn is having a fire sale, I'd want in. They've had banged up bigs this year, and maybe they'd like to look into a slightly used, one-owner Harrison. Maybe a little Harrington to spice things up. Tinsley makes a little sense out there, and if they're looking to shake things up/ tank and don't require draft picks, we're a good tradebait-mate.

look at it this way ... if you were a NJ fan would you be looking at indy and sayin yeah i want him, him and him .... unless we're talkin about J.O, Danny and posibly Williams if your startin over it aint likely ur gunna look more than once ... we dont have waht teams want to trade for! ... we arnt close to a championship so we arnt lookin for one piece to get us to win and we arnt crammed full of young talent ... we are in no-mans-land as far as trading goes! especially for All-Star players like Kid and Carter

Do you mean to trade them, or just kill them both with one stone?

If there is salary cap relief, I cou...
Why do the things that we treasure most, slip away in time
Till to the music we grow deaf, to God's beauty blind
Why do the things that connect us slowly pull us apart?
Till we fall away in our own darkness, a stranger to our own hearts
And life itself, rushing over me
Life itself, the wind in black elms,
Life itself in your heart and in your eyes, I can't make it without you

Kidd is the only player that we would want.

    I would easily offer up:

    Harrington+Tinsley+Harrison+Shawne for Kidd+Hassan Adams+Josh Boone

or even go as far as:

    Harrington+Tinsley+Harrison+Granger for Kidd+Hassan Adams+Josh Boone+2007 1st round draft pick

As long as we have either Granger or Shawne...I am fine with either.....as long as we get a PG that can actually run the point properly. I also don't care that we have to give up Harrington to get a true PG that is older......Kidd ( even over the next 2 seasons ) is going to be better then anything Tinsley can do.
