The NFL has announced broadcast times for the upcoming postseason.

    AFC and NFC wild-card games will be held Saturday, Jan. 6 at 4:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. and Sunday, Jan. 7 at 1 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Second-round games will be played Saturday, Jan. 13 at 4:30 p.m. and 8 p.m., and Sunday, Jan. 14 at 1 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.

The NFC Championship Game is scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 21 at 3 p.m. while the AFC title game has a 6:30 p.m. kickoff that day.

The Indianapolis Colts have earned their fifth consecutive playoff berth and can guarantee themselves at least a No. 3 seed with a win over Miami Sunday in the RCA Dome. If they beat the Dolphins and Baltimore loses at home to Buffalo, they earn the No. 2 seed and a first-round bye.

Oh Christ - that means the defense will be on national television.

What happened last time they were on national tv? Oh yeah, allowed just 1 touchdown on a possesion the Bengals shouldn't have even had.

This team needs Jim Mora to come in as a motivational speaker.

Against a team that is blowing itself up. Next question.

Against a team that everyone was calling "hot," and that they were on track to get into the playoffs. They were on a four game winning streak, which included beating the Saints and the Ravens.

They were playing their best football of the season. My parents are HUGE bengals fans (my mom has been since the late 70's) so I had to hear about they were going to beat Indy for a couple of weeks.

The Saints were 1-3 against the AFC North, with a close game against the Browns in week #1. Like any other NFC team with a > 0.500 record, they are overrated. So I wouldn't put too much into the quality of that four-game winning streak (the other wins were Cleveland and the Raiders). From what I've seen, the Bengals played their best football in weeks 1-3.

BTW, there are still lots of Bengals fans in Central Indiana - they were very, very popular here prior to the arrival of Baltimore's team, as they had some very, very good teams during the several years preceeding the Colts arrival and remained that way for the Colts first several uninspiring seasons. They just had to keep quiet about it for a decade or so of utter futility.

Notice how you just brused over their win over the Ravens?

The Bengals had shut out the Ravens for 59 mins of that game. They didn't score until the 1:01 mark of the 4th qtr.

Palmer threw up a 97.7 passer rating against a defense that was averaging giving up a 60.6.

I don't know how you can go over 110 mins without giving up a score, and say they were playing better at the beginning of the season.

Yes, the Ravens were the only good win of that streak. I guess I left out that sentence. Oops.

    They start out 3-0.

Go on a 1-5 drought in the middle.

Have a four-game win streak that includes two lousy and one average opponent, and then lose the next two.

Yeah, I'd still argue they played their best during the first three weeks, before injuries and legal problems unraveled their season.

I think I said in the preseason I thought the Bengals would start the season 13-0 and then lose their last three.

Well, that was before injuries and criminal problems...

At the beginning of the season, I thought the Bengals would be the team to beat in the AFC, and now I think its the Ravens.
