Indeed this will be interesting..........our 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th scoring options are out for one reason or another.....at this point...I have no clue as to how good we will do.

I predict that the loss will be as bad as the loss to the Cavs.

The question is.......if we lose as badly as we did against the Cavs....but with a completely depleted squad...is that more acceptable?

    or

Is a loss....simply a loss......with or without the top 4 players on our team?

Also....given a complete lack of any of our regular starters....I can totally see Carlisle calling every play....thus negating any playmaking skills that Sarunas and DA have.

And the total salaries of the missing 5 is equal to that of AI/AI2/C-Webb/Carney.

Could we possibly be looking at a lineup of

    AI/Saras/DA/Greene
    Iggy/Marshall
    Granger/Carney/Williams
    C-Webb/Baston/Powell
    Foster/Harrison

I know taking on Webber is a no no, but his contract expires at the same time we need to make a qualifying offer to Iguadala and Harrison, while Foster has a player option in 2008 and Danny and Shawne a team option.
    You're joking right?

I'm not saying that its realistic...or would likely happen.....and I suspect that Alpolloloco is stretching here ( cuz we can probably work out some type of trade that would be accepted on the ESPN Trade Machine )......but a:

    Iverson+Iguodala+CWeb+Carney

    for

    JONeal+SJax+Tinsley+Marquis

    trade does work.

When our frontline consists of roleplayers that have more defensive then offensive skills....I predict that Tyrus Thomas is gonna have the breakout game.

I didn't say that we would do it.......cuz I know that it doesn't make any sense.....LSL asked if Alpolloloco was joking....and I said that the trade worked.

On top of that....we wouldn't even be the Sixers West....since we are in the East already....we would simply be the Sixers.

Me thinks that LB and DW have been perusing BBall's thread about how JONeal ( along with Tinsley and SJax ) are part of the problem and decided to offer up 4 starters to BK for Iverson.....

The most important thing about tonight is Jamaal Tinsley's consectuive games streak will come to an end at 22 games. I thought he was going break Cal Ripken's record.

Seriously, Granger and Sarunas both have to be on top of their games because their isn't a whole lot of offensive fire power active tonight. (Powell or Harrison must step up and contirbute some low post scoring)

I was semi joking because I was thinking what we could get for that missing 5 package, and surprisingly these Sixers sum it up.

OTOH, that lineup doesn't look awfully bad, with Granger and Foster instead of Korver and Daly and a MUCH better bench. I think we could get to the playoffs easily with this team.

And don't forget, Webber is still the best passing big man in the NBA so the ball movement will only improve (unless AI goes 1 on 5).

Actually.....for those that can watch the game....please report in on what the level of effort we display. Given that our #1 to #4 scoring options will likely be out........I wouldn't be surprised if we still lose.....but we will still see a Pacer lineup that plays with alot more passion and effort.

Assuming that Webber can still move with those bad knees of his.....I can only imagine a half injured Foster and C-Web crawling to the other half of the court when the rest of the backcourt is on the other end waiting for them to catch up....

That left just 10 bodies available for Monday's walkthrough. The pending starters for tonight are Darrell Armstrong and Sarunas Jasikevicius at guard, Jeff Foster at center and Maceo Baston and Danny Granger at forward.

Great!! Seriously, I would LOVE that. That is a lineup of MY favorite Pacers. I've always liked Marquis, but in terms of viewing pleasure, those are the guys I like to watch play.

As I said, I've been hit and miss about watching games this year because I'm ot too happy with the makeup of this team, but when I DO watch, it's to see if my boy Maceo can get some PT, the progress of Saras, old fav DA and the maturation of Danny.

Fare as I'm concerned, I hope all those other guys stay sick!
Yes, now we get to watch our guys play. The ones with heart and no baggage. I am going to enjoy this game.

Well it was food poisoning so they probably all went out to eat together but you can read too much in to it and come up with conspiracies if you want.

At least this is likely to put a sock in the mouth of complainers. After this disaster it will be pretty clear why this isn't the normal starting lineup.

We already got to see what the team is like without JO vs a good team. Now we get to see what this "dream" team looks like.

I'm in the 120-75 group. If you really like to watch a crippled child fight Clubber Lang just because he's "spunky" while getting pummled then I don't know what to tell you.

Who knows, maybe if we cross our fingers the Bulls will underplay the game thanks to this news and choke away an easy win. I know the Pacers would if it were reversed roles.

BTW, here's MY conspiracy theory - Pacer players trying to show solidarity behind Jackson. If he doesn't play, we don't play.

If it weren't for Daniels apparently having witnesses to his getting sick on the bus I'd really be wondering. I assume that the article is written the way it is because a reporter or team rep was on the bus when MD "lost it".

I sure hope it is just chance. Otherwise the team has a big, big problem, one that would go past Rick and right up to Bird (considering RC's post-game comments and then the sudden extra game suspension by the "team" a day later).

IF Bird was the one that laid down the extra game law about Jack and IF the other players decided to make a point about it then you have an issue that isn't solved by moving Rick and would require a total team swap out practically.

Since we're cooking up conspiracy theories, what sort of trade would it take to get KG and AI here in a 3 way deal? Not that I want it, but I'm fascinated with that sort of paradigm shift.
