    Default Kobe's being bitter...

Anyone else hear is comments after Arenas dropped 60 last night? I just heard him on ESPNews and he basically says that it was an empty 60 points and that if GIlbert had missed them they would have just been horrible shots (Uhh, no duh Kobe.) He was really earning my respect til this. Like he didn't have a few lucky ones drop when he put up 81 last year? Sounds like sour grapes to me.

Damn, that is incredibly petty. If anything, Kobe should know exactly (from previous experience) what Gilbert needed to do to accomplish it, and be much more gracious.

The funny thing is that Gilbert went to the line like five times late in the game and ended up going about 4 for 9. Not sure why he's missing so many clutch freethrows, but if he knocks down even 7 of 9 there, then there probably isn't any OT for him to score 16 points in.

Just Gilbert being quirky again, I guess.

Kobe can say whatever he wants to who ever he wants, whenever he wants.

No, he can't, but he should have known that by now...

Yes he can, he is Kobe. He is the best basketball player in the world, when you are the best in something in the whole world, then you can talk about what ever you want.

I'm surprised he said that. It doesn't take much to realize how hard he worked for those points.

Here's an actual quote, from the ESPN Daily Dime

    http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/dailyd...t&lid=tab2pos1

"You tip your hat and say, 'See you next time,'" he said. "I don't think he has a conscience. I really don't. He was chucking out there. He took some horrible shots and he made some big ones. I don't get a chance to play him much. I'll be ready next time."

Well, he's right on with that quote, I guess. Gilby did take some bad shots.

LA sports talk radio is ripping him about this quote. They've played the sound byte multiple times and its definately a sour grapes situation.

Not sure 17-32 is really chucking. I mean, anytime you're putting up 32 shots you probably lack a conscience, but as long as you're over 50%, I can't see anyone questioning your shot selection.

But I thought Jermaine O'Neal is the best basketball player in the world. Your game is showing signs of slowing down...

No, you can't. Virtually everybody will be held accountable for what he/she says. IF not by the fans, then by the media or the sponsers or the League or an owner or a coach ... or other respected people who actually know what they are talking about.

Kobe is arguably the best player in the NBA, but he is also arguably the most selfish. That much is widely known around the league, particularly by Shaq. Kobe's selfishness is the prime reason that team broke apart.

...now, whether he raped the woman is unknown by anyone but them. ...but let's just say that self-lessness is not a common trait among rapists.

Are we sure that Kobe wasn't joking or just trying to rile things up a bit? Dude isn't stupid, you know, whether or not he raped that money-grubbing (sp?) woman and passed on college. He's usually pretty mature and strategic about his words now.
