Default 10 Reasons why the Colts will win the Super Bowl

1.) We have the best game planner ever at quarterback.

2.) Joseph Addai is making huge strides and should be a force to be reckoned with come playoff time.

3.) Our defense is able to cause turnovers. True, it has looked bad at times, but it has also looked good. Our defense won the game for us against New England, and gave us a chance to win against Dallas. They are inconsistent, but I have utmost confidence in them come playoff time.

4.) We have the best wide reciever tandem in the NFL.

5.) Our offensive line has looked much better then last year's playoff version did.

6.) One of the main reasons we've lost in previous reasons is because teams were able to get pressure on Peyton. Not only does the O-line look better, but Peyton has been more mobile this season, and able to get away from pressure and still make plays.

7.) Adam V. is still Adam V. He's not going to miss a game winner in his range if it comes down to that.

8.) Our special teams is miles better then it has been in the past. I like Terrance Wilkins.

9.) We lost last year because of a bad break and a poor first half. We aren't going to fall behind like that again and have to comeback. Even if we are in the same situation, V will drill the field goal this time. If we didn't lose to Pittsburgh last year we would have won the Super Bowl.

10.) San Diego is the team that will give us the most problems, and we will not have to play them. San Diego is going to get the other bye, and other teams will be able to beat them. The only way we don't win the Super Bowl is if we have to play San Diego, I will be very worried if we have to play them.

The Colts shouldn't have been in a position to tie that game. They were pracitcally handed the game and still couldn't convert. A giftwrapped overturned interception, a one in a million Bettis fumble.......and they still couldn't win the game.

It shouldn't have been that close.

Love the list; the last two were great. #9 is BIG.

I do agree that SD is the scariest of them all. But if we lose to SD, I have a feeling everybody is losing to SD. Tomlinson is just a beast and if we lose to them, well, I can live with that. LT is other-wordly.

All right I was waiting for this thread! Now things are getting fun.

On 8 I agee as far as Wilkins and our return game, but our coverage teams have had some serious lapses that make me nervous. I would call them adequate coverage-wise, but not above average.

I'd have to say, too, that for 9 we were very fortunate to even be in a position to force overtime.

Oh yeah, and overall I think the O-Line has looked better, but Dallas was able to get in Peyton's craw enough to throw him off and it cost us. And supposedly that is the 3-4 style D that causes us so much difficulty (See Pittsburgh and San Diego last season).

I hope your reasoning proves correct! I'm with you on the emotional side but my rational faculties just aren't that convinced that we have what it takes as a whole.

You have the best game planner CURRENTLY playing in the NFL. He's a great at reading the defenses..the best in the NFL.

I don't think he'll be a force to be reckoned with..but he will be good enough to make defenses respect the run game.

Inconsistency kills playoff teams. You can't win without consistency all around from your players. The defense doesn't need to be great, it needs to be just good enough.

Questionably, yes. I would rather have Boldin and Fitz, simply because of the age factor.

The same O-Line that dissapeared against Dallas?

    Can't disagree there.

Haven't paid much attention to Colts special teams. Nothing spectacular..but they aren't bad.

You were handed that game and still couldn't finish. You would have won the superbowl though if you had gotten past Pitt.

LT is awesome..he's near unstoppable at the goal-line..but he is stoppable. Not by the Colts..but he's not invincible. The problem is that they have such a great duo in Gates and Tomlinson. You have to double cover Gates with a LB and safety at all times meaning LT can run wild alot of the time.

All in all, the Colts have a shot this year..but no more of a shot then alot of other teams in the AFC. The Ravens, Patriots, and Chargers are all very good teams. Let's also not forget that Peyton has choked in the playoffs in the past. I'm excited about this years playoffs simply because it will be so competitive. So many good games.

That's like blaming him for losing to Florida when they lose 64-35, or blaming him for never beating them.

Have you actually seen his post season numbers?

He has only completed 60% of his pass attempts for 300+yds/game for 1.9 TD/game 1 INT/game. Yes, that's a drop off from his regular season stats but 99% of the time stats drop off from regular season to post season because of the strenght of opponents.

Out of those 8INTS, 6 of them are from two games. Yes, he threw four INTs to NE in 2003 but he also threw for 5 TDs in routing Denver and 3 TDs in a nail biter against KC, with zero INTs for both games, in the very same year.

Peyton is on the reasons list for never making a SB, obviously, but to say he chokes is a massive overstatement.

And I hate how they bring college into the argument. You do realize he went 3-1 in Bowl appearances. He completed 57% of his passes, 151 total pass attempts in 3 games!!!, for 342 yds/game with 4TDs and 2INTS (those are for the 97 game and the 95 game. 1996's TDs and INTs vs. FL wasn't on there for some reason.) against FL in his career. But yes, Peyton Manning could never beat FL.

Don't bring up college..or I'll be forced to bring up Ryan Leaf and Ron Dayne (aka fat sack of crap).

By choking, I mean getting destroyed by NE during their dynasty years. And yes, It's no surprise that the Colts own Denver. They always have and always will.

    Perception Vs. reality.....

I use reality, you use perception. Gotta love it.

Comparing Ryan Leaf to PM is a complete joke, and doesn't even fall into the same category. I'm still talking about PM "choking," which has been the knock on him since his UT days, and you start talking about great college QBs that couldn't make it in the league. It doesn't even go together, let alone debunk anything that I said in the previous post.

those 10 reasons won't mean squat if we can't stop the run.

You were the one who brought up college football, slick. You didn't debunk what I said either. In fact, you never really do. You attack the miniscule details of my posts and don't comment on my main points. This isn't the first time at least.

Peyton hasn't led his team to a championship and has been the reason they've lost in the playoffs before. He plays ****ty when it matters (any part of the post-season).Therefore, he chokes. End of story. You lose. Only Indy fans wont admit it. Theres no point in arguing it because Peyton hasn't led his team anywhere in the playoffs. Thats the cold hard truth right there. You can show me all the statistics you want regarding what he's done..but when it comes down to it, he hasn't ever won the big one..and it doesn't look like he ever will. He'll go down as Dan Marino number 2...sure that's great, you have all the TD records..but he will be remembered the same way Dan was. Could never win the big one..with a small sub-label on the side that says "Choke Artist." Just go back and revisit the game threads of the past 3-4 years when the Colts have been the playoffs. Pretty much everyone who commented in them ended up calling him a choker.

Not even going to revisit this thread because the argument and battle is over. Manning - 0 SB Rings.

    Heres a little parting gift.

A red X is my parting gift?

Him "choking" includes his college days, which is WHY I brought it up. Ever wondered why people refer to NE as his new Florida? Hmmmmm, it's not because he switched summer homes.

Last time I checked Peyton doesn't play any more positions than QB. Yes, he has been a PART of the problem, but to label him THE problem is completely stupid.
