Thread: Carlisle, Jackson, Foster having words?

Default Carlisle, Jackson, Foster having words?

I missed parts of the game, someone just called into the post-game show on WIBC, saying that there was a slight blow up between coach & Jackson, and Foster might have steped in a bit.

anyone notice this? doesn't sound like it was much to worry about, just curious if it happened.

thought it was a great win BTW

Not sure I see it. I see a couple words, but I have no idea what they were talking about. It was a good push by Tinsley, a good pass by Jack, and a good layup by Foster.

Was it from the previous play maybe?

There are a lot of things that occur in the heat of the moment that maybe shouldn't occur, but they do and more often than not they are nothing. Remember Walker and Wade getting after eachother in the first round last spring in the Bulls series.

We don't know what happened in the huddle between Jax and coach, so I don't see this as a big issue at all. Jax played a good game tonight and I thought his defense was really good.

    jax passes by rick
    rick says a comment
jax turns back says, something back
then, tinsley and foster start yelling back at jax
also, you can see JO hurry to the altercation

I looked at it as more of a "we made a good play, it was exciting" thing, even after watching the replay and rewinding it on the DVR a few times. At first it worried me but I'd bet it was either heat of the moment or those guys doing the "fake aggressive" thing a lot of people do after a great play goes off (see: every successful football play)

My guess is (if you can hear it they're yelling to Jack to get in position for the play because he's currently out of position) Rick was mad about him setting up for the play like the other 4 Pacers had so generously agreed to do ( ), and he had to yell something back. Given the others' response, I think it's pretty clear Jack was in the wrong.

By the way, the chemistry from everyone else looked terrific tonight (including Sarunas and Tinsley), so that made catching this all the more disappointing for me.

What bothers me about it is this sense that Foster and Tins feel the need to "back up" or protect Carlisle. It's like the guy doesn't have the nads to run the team.

I appreciate Tins and Foster, but I cringe at what it implies.

“People talk about how quiet he [McKey] is, but he’s really been helpful. He gives a lot of insight to players in how to guard certain teams and what their weaknesses are. The whole team listens to him, and it makes my job a lot easier. Having players like him is what pro basketball is all about for me.” —Larry Brown

And that is what tells me this little incident doesn't mean anything because the chemistry, the spirit tonight was great

Of Jacks in the wrong, everytime he is in the wrong. If he passes the ball, it wasn't the play. Look Rick **** shut the hell up, your completely by the book offense was supposed to be out the door. Let some improvisation occur.

Jack has absolutely NO understanding about what a "zero tolerance" policy means.

But, apparently neither do the Pacers since they don't enforce them...

I've got plenty of high notes for the game... I'm going to give a pass for now.

It happened in the 3rd and there were no other signs so that was good! And it was nice to see JT, Foster and JO backing up there coach, and getting their teammate on the same page. It shows that they're behind Carlisle, and what decisions he makes

That happens with other teams too. Maybe Jack said something coming down the court that Rick didn't like. Who knows? No big deal really.

Personally I took it as "Jax would you please shut the ****** up before someone on PD sees you mouthing off and then there's a whole thread about whether or not you and coach are going at it again."

That it happened in the first damn game is troublesome. Heat of the moment stuff happens BUT it shouldn't happen in the first game to the player on the shortest leash on a team that least needs any distractions or trouble.

Nuntius was right. I was wrong. Frank Vogel has retained his job.

Wouldn't worry too much about it.

If it's a recurring thing though, then it's time to get worried..but I think it was more of a heat of the moment thing. Happens every now and then in basketball and it happens all the time in football.
