No, he was trying to show off his leadership, a position he hadn't earned.

Its an important example of how little he (and his fanboys) "get" his role.
Why do the things that we treasure most, slip away in time
Till to the music we grow deaf, to God's beauty blind
Why do the things that connect us slowly pull us apart?
Till we fall away in our own darkness, a stranger to our own hearts
And life itself, rushing over me
Life itself, the wind in black elms,
Life itself in your heart and in your eyes, I can't make it without you

"Action Distraction"......it sucks for the Pacers....but that's funny....and...at times...an apt Nickname for him.

This is David West, he is the Honey Badger, West just doesn't give a *****....he's pretty bad *ss cuz he has no regard for any other Player or Team whatsoever.

If you read Scoop Jackson's predictions about the upcoming season, they are mostly absurd and separate from those of his colleagues. He's a joke as a journalist and commentator in articles. This is not a personal attack; this is a statement of fact or at least very solid opinion. He's horrible.

lol Honest mistake. He makes the same honest mistake every game.

Sarunas gets beat by man, turns around and throws hands up at Fred Jones. Same old thing. I knew he wouldnt be able to play big minutes again this year because he doesnt have the talent or speed to play with NBA players. But I thought he would actually be able to shoot, he cant even do that. He is useless, you tell me one thing he brings to this team that helps them win?

How we play there is determined by our leadership and maturity. That is where I am worried.
I'm wit ya. Far as I'm concerned, we're the most immature team in the league until proven otherwise by our guys.

How about some sincere desire and enthusiasm?

Yet, I fear that the overwhelming forces of mediocrity on this team may be getting to him.

LOL if the Pacers kept on their roster every single player that showed up that promised to try real hard but sucked, well lets just say they would be petitioning to be let into the NBDL.

His picking the Rockets to win the Southwest and to have the best record in the West doesn't hurt your description. Of course it does go against the person that says these guys never go out on a limb.

Sure, when he shows that he understands he was brought here to play a role, that he needs to earn the respect of his teammates, and that his attempts to usurp leadership from JO cause more harm than good, then there won't be a need to use those examples. That's an easy one to quote because everybody remembers it and it embodies everything that's been wrong with Saras' mental approach to the NBA. But we can find newer, updated examples of the same thing if you'd prefer.

Yes, Saras, you were a star in Europe. You're a struggling role player here, and you're going to have to earn respect with your play, not your mouth.

He's a prima donna on the court, and a prima donna off the court. Except that he's easily replaceable by ordinary NBA PGs like AJ and Greene.

Jay, you don't even have to bother fighting this battle anymore.

Cabbages is solving the issue for us. Rick will bench guys that struggle if he's got options. Sarunas found that out last year. 8 turnovers to 0 assists will put you on the bench in a hurry.

You know what though, just for you I'm going to go pull out a new classic for you to throw at them since no one buys this one any more...just a sec.

Yeah exactly this year we have White, Tinsley, Daniels, Greene and Armstrong who can play ahead of Runi. Even on this team 2 out of those 5 will be healthy at any given time.

This is last year vs Boston obviously. Sarunas is defending West. I used vid caps since I don't have a host for the vid at this point.

    Here he is on West.

West then goes through the lane while Cabbages gets caught ball watching

Finally as Boston drives to his side SarJas turns to find his man...whoops, where is he?

He then starts to look around the court trying to figure out how a guy could get lost in that small a space (I was wondering the same thing). Notice that every other Pacer has their man, this wasn't a switch situation. West just "dared" to move someplace else without asking.

Finally the ball heads over to the wide open West and SarJas gets sight of him from behind two other players.

Fred tries to help which is more than Cabbages does the rest of this play.

Cabbages blocks out and fights for rebounds, or breaks out to beat Boston back...no wait, he continues to enjoy the better-than-front-row seat and watches the game.

"Oh no" he says "he made it even though I mentally willed him to miss."

Just in case you thought the blame went to someone else, Cabbage's tells you who screwed up. He knows he just F'd up.

He then throws his arms down at his side in the sign of failure while the rest of the team, the guys who didn't mess up, hurry to get going the other way rather than complain or point fingers.

The ball doesn't even go in to SarJas, but rather Fred Jones who is taking off up court, already on the run with Jack in-bounding to him. SarJas walks up court in his best Charlie Brown imitation, showing clear leadership skills.

Okay, so now it's Korver AND West. How many do we need to go to before it's stops being a dead horse and starts being a stampeding horse massacre?

Seth, please tell me you have the first Philly game from last year on your DVR. That's great.

    Good stuff, Seth. Really good.

The only possible answer is that this was just one of more than 6,000 possessions by the other team during last season.

But no one can deny the pictures and your narration of them.
And I won't be here to see the day

You have no idea how many times I wish I had a video of a play so I could post it and walk guys through what I'm seeing. Seth just laid out for all to see what I see from Cabbage over and over and over again. Absolutely tremendous post!

It doesn't look like he's yelling at Fred at all. I've seen that body language before (sadly), and that's him mad/disappointed at himself.

Don't get me wrong, he has yelled at Fred, but it looked different than that.
