    Unhappy Doss out for season

Knee injury knocks Colts safety Doss out for season

    October 23, 2006

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -- Colts safety Mike Doss will miss the rest of the season with a torn ACL in his right knee.

Doss suffered the injury during Sunday's game against the Washington Redskins and medical tests determined the tear, Colts coach Tony Dungy said Monday.

Doss had been a starter the last two years but came off the bench the first two games this season until Bob Sanders suffered a knee injury. Sanders has missed the last four games after having arthroscopic surgery on his right knee.

Dungy is hopeful Sanders will return this week.

Hopefully Sanders returns, as he was probably going to replace him anyway, but now we are certainly thin in that area.

Well, as they were carrying him off, Bob Sanders was standing there in the camera shot, so I said, "Hurry back Bob." Then he turned around and followed Mike and it looked like he was limping.

I blame Bush. Think about, all the problems started after he got reelected, think about it.

Bob was on Channel 8 after the game. He said he was hoping to be back this week. Don't know if he really thinks he can or not.

I want bob back ASAP just as much as the next guy but come on...we can rush him back sooner then he should be...that will only lead to him getting hurt again.

Right now, we need Sanders back, but if he has to sit to prevent further injury, he simply has to sit. When Sanders gets back, he and Bethea will make a scary safety tandem. The question is, if Bob isn't back this week, who gets the start? Is it Giordano? That's a scary thought...he's good for special teams, but starting?

Let's just hope Sanders can go, and we'll be fine.
