Steve Nash usually gets killed when he plays us. Fortunately for him, he had will blalock to deal with this time around.....

We'll be ok. Just had one of those nights.

It wasn't about being the team everyone loved, it was about beating the teams everyone else loved.

crap, crap, crap...The most sad thing is that Pistons where in the game even without Billups. Well, now I will hope for Chicago beating them...

The Cavs may be the worst scoring team in the league; Spurs' defense or not, they can't score together.

IOW, this team ain't going nowhere so stop the 'elite' talk.

As long as they make it into the playoffs, they'll be contending for the Eastern Conference, I'm confident. The NBA isn't about the regular season and the Cavs have the best player in the Eastern Conference. A player that almost single-handedly took them past a very good Detroit Pistons team. IIRC, the only other Cav player who had an above average series was Anderson Varejao (much the dismay of every broadcasting team) and he kept getting in foul trouble. As long as LeBron can get some help from his team, they'll be dangerous. It's all about winning one game at a time and on any given day, I wouldn't want to face LeBron in the playoffs.

EDIT: I said this before they put on their scoring run and went ahead of the Spurs.

A very dreadful game to watch indeed. The Spurs worst of the year no doubt.

The thing is that they have no veterans (maybe Snow....maybe) and no one who can elevate their level of play besides James. Anyways, I politely, gentlemanly disagree and think this team is going to get rocked in the playoffs. I would admit you're right if they get past the first round.

Edit: Success! Hughes didn't sprain his wrist shooting that free throw.

Ron Artest bounces back with a career-high 37 points tonight against the Knicks. Still time left in the game, so he may get more. Before now, his career-high was 35, back during the 03-04 season.

Now the Kings fans try to pretend like everything is okay, and Ron is a changed man.

    He finished with 39.

Hard to believe Ron has never put up a 40-point night...Then again, I guess it's not really that surprising.

Ron is not much of a scorer if you ask me, like anyone else he can get hot but he is a defender. Also, with his body he should be one of the better small forward rebounders in the league but he is not.

I disagree with that. He averages 7 RPG this year. That is more than decent. But even if you go by his lower career average (which IMO you shouldn't) which is around 5 RPG, I still think he is decent. A lot of the time he is out defending the best perimeter player on the other team (often the guy taking the most shots). Not only does this take him away from the hoop but since he guards guys who have the ball a lot and shoot a lot, it puts him away from where he is likely to get good position.

As for his scoring, I don't know. Call me crazy, I always enjoyed watching Ron on offense. He is a very versatile scorer. This does not mean that he is justified in taking as many shots as he does or being the number one option. He is also a bit overrated on offense; he is not a 20 PPG scorer. IMO, Bibby and Martin have really saved him in Sac. Without them, he'd be exposed as the second-tier scorer he is.

Matt Barnes put up 36 points tonight, in the Warriors 144-135 loss to the Grizzlies (and no, there weren't any overtime sessions). The dude chucked up 28 shots, but still, when the hell did Matt Barnes become a go-to guy? I'm speechless.

He plays PF for them, most of the time he is being guarded by some big stiff and he is just running past them for lay ups. Or they are laying off him so much they are afraid he is gonna run past them, so they give him open 3's. The Warriors have a different go to guy every game.

Look at the guy Azubike, they signed him 2 days ago and he is starting already and scored 15 points on 14 shots. Everyone gets to shoot on the Warriors. Too bad they cant play D to save their life.

Makes sense. Never thought of him as a 4 (in any situation), so he must be a huge liability defensively, right?

He just fronts the PF the whole time, if the dude catches the ball and backs him down he usually is always scoring.

Look at the score they gave up 145 points, they dont know what defense means.

I gotta give props. Apparently he made it from 32 feet out. They backed away and dared him to take the shot. Amazing.

    Hibachi!

Oh, and from the Daily Dime (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/dailyd...t&lid=tab3pos3)

"The Wizards took a lighthearted approach to the return of the old ball. A video montage shown between the first and second quarters showed the microfiber ball exploding like the Death Star -- accompanied by the "Star Wars" theme music. Then the leather ball was shown getting out of bed, crossing a street, getting into a cab, punching some meat in a meat locker and victoriously climbing the steps of the Lincoln Memorial -- all to the theme from "Rocky."

You pulled up from 30 feet in a tie game? And ate a whole wheel of cheese?

Can we officially put Gil in the "Baxter zone"? You know how Simmons has the "Tyson zone" for Artest and the like? Well it's the same, except nothing that Gil does even surprises me anymore. I know I should be mad (like how he claims he's a PG though he's clearly not) but I can't be mad.

You took 40 shots and barely put up 30? And ate a whole wheel a cheese?

    Wow...I'm not even mad...that's amazing.
