    Default What a weird night

I took obnoxiousmodesty to his first ever live Pacer game at Conseco. The game was mostly worthy, but the stuff after the game was kinda wild.

I'm tired and I want to go to bed (*thump thump*), so for now I'll leave it with this:

    1) Steak N Shake
    2) Danny Granger
    3) The Ghostbusters
    4) A low-quality camera cell phone that denied both of us proof of our strange journey

Danny Granger knows where you're going to be before you know you're going to be there.

Thus if JO is already God, this makes Danny Granger his only begotten son sent to sacrifice himself???

That was one fun freakin' night. Forget the game...well, don't entirely forget the game...but it was nearly a footnote to the hilarity of the remainder of the evening.

I about fell out of my chair when Danny walked into Steak 'n Shake. I probably looked like a drooling fanboy. Oh, who am I kidding, I am a drooling fanboy. That was too cool.

As for the guys walking down Washington in full-on Ghostbusters gear, that was just surreal. Halloween starting early?

And I now officially hate my camera phone. It's in need of a SERIOUS upgrade.

All in all, it was a fun night.

Awww - let me guess. You tried taking a pic with you two and Danny and it didn't come out? That SUCKS! Sorry to hear about your bad luck.

So, were you just walking down the street and saw a bunch of people dressed up in Ghostbusters gear? If so, that's sweet.

It kind of reminds me of when my friends and I were making some "Jackass-type" video back a couple years ago. For one of the skits, we dressed up in cheap Halloween costumes (I was a big giant Crayola crayon, I forget what the other guys were) and went around trick-or-treating. It was early in September. You should have seen the looks on the faces of the people. They had no idea what to do. My friend told a couple of the people that we were going to be away for actual Halloween, so we were celebrating it on a night that was convenient for us.

One of the guys actually went into the kitchen and got us juiceboxes (with his wife yelling at him in the background). Then I felt bad.

BTW, those Ghostbuster guys, if they're the same ones, go to Gen Con every year, so I see them quite regularly!

However, I've yet to see Danny Granger, much less catch him on film.

Finally, aren't we missing the serious question?

WTH was Danny Granger doing in Steak n' Shake? Shouldn't he also have a personal chef? Maybe the training staff told him to eat carbs and protein so he could put on muscle, and SnS was the logical choice? Is there anything in there that's a "good choice" in there when you're supposed to be concentrating on your conditioning?

steak and shake is popular with the players, i read that shaq goes there everytime he is in town. they must be missing s.n.s. from their hometown.

No, it's the only place open in Indy after 8pm.

Yep, I seem to remember Shaq was complaining the only place to go was SnS.

No, Danny was dressed in black last night.

The icing was walking back towards Conseco and seeing the Ghostbusters patrolling down the street adjacent to us.

You've got to be kidding me, we probably just missed this. The wife and I went to Rock Bottom for dinner and had to park on the other side of SnS (I assume you mean downtown) due to the FFA convention, the game and something big at the ISymOrch.

I bet we went by there back to the car just before he rolled in.

We didn't see any Ghostbusters...though we did a downtown photo scavenger hunt the weekend of GenCon and OMFG, there is nowhere to begin on that.

Hey, sidebar about SnS area - WTF is with the new light board statues that show a woman just shifting her hips. There is another over at Wash and I think Meridian (Borders/Parisian area) of a guy walking.

I noticed these for the first time just a few days ago. I assume it's some public art thing, but its a little bizarre.

He had to walk past Morton's, Moe's, 14 West, Palomino, Ruth's Chris (around the corner), the Ram, and St. Elmo's to get there. Plus for really late eating Red-Eye cafe is open after bar hours even and features the same kind of stuff...you dirty .

I would never in a million years expect players to walk over to SnS.

I think you may be wrong here. I have been to SnS many times after drinking a lot of booze. One time comes to mind during a night out at Yogi's during my first year in Bloomington, but I digress.

And strippers have to eat too. They get out of work at 2:00am, and where else are they going to go? Maybe Denny's, but you would have to assume that there are some strippers at the SnS at 3:00am among the drunks.

I thought that was Jax. It would explain his recent thinking process, or lack thereof.

    I just realized something.

I'm deeply disappointed in the character of the Pacers team, and I'm one of the few people willing to say I care more about character than what happens on the floor. I've been asking myself why I hang around Pacers Digest with my unwelcome moralizing.

I know why. I'm gonna hang around until next year's annual Pacers Digest awards so I can vote for obnoxiousmodesty for the best avatar.
And I won't be here to see the day
It all dries up and blows away
I'd hang around just to see
But they never had much use for me

Although it is not common knowledge, there are actually three sides to the Force: the light side, the dark side, and Danny Granger.
