Dang...that boy has HOPS. He makes it look so easy. Those free throw dunks are legit, too.

I can't wait to see him crown some guys this year.

NBA fights.. Reggie, Smits, Artest in a few. I made sure the brawl wasn't in it.. as we have all had enough of that.

Seeing baby Al go into the stands in that last clip makes me happy all over again that he is coming home.

Al is a take no crap guy.

Seeing Rodman reminds of when Sam Mitchell slammed him to the ground right in front of us at MSA. Rodman had been using his normal borderline dirty tactics and Sam finally snapped.

Dale came into the game to replace Sam who was ejected. Dale immediately walked up to Rodman and said something along the lines of "dont play your ****** with me or I will **ck you up and take the ten game suspension right now". Rodman was a shadow of his former self the rest of the night. It was truly priceless.

Rodman never EVER EVER messed with Dale. He took Tony dancing once but he never did anything with Dale.

Do you remember that game, I believe it was 4 years back in Toronto where Al was running the break and Mo Pete tripped him from behind? Knocked Al right on his face. Al shot straight up and would have none of it and got into it with Mo Pete........Mo Pete looked frightened.

And then Isiah came running onto the court and started challenging Mo to fight him

I think that's one of my favorite moments during the Isiah years. The fact that you had your COACH willing to kick somebody's *** for your players was awesome.

I brought it up for a reason - and it's one of my fonder memories as well.

How many times have we seen Rick go out there and take a measly technical to stick up for his guys? The answer is rarely, if ever....... You'd never see him do something like Isiah did. I'm not saying it was the right thing to do - but you have to appreciate the fact that his players respected that about him.

Rick would go ape**** to cover Reggie Miller, but that was about it IIRC.

I can recall Rick doing it, and I loved it.

I also remember Isiah getting ready to fight, too. I really loved that.

I don't think we will be missing Freddie's dunks. White has got to compete in the dunk contest.

As long he has no fear, aggressive dunks at people ala Freedie, ala Byron Scott, we have succesfully replaced Freddie.

The question is can hit hit a jump shot?

The bummer about White (if true) is that I've read he doesn't take it aggressively at people in actual games.

He knocked it down pretty consistently in summer league. So that is a good sign.

One thing I was talking to a friend about the other night. White got knocked for not going to that "next level" in college that many thought he would. I was wondering if White was one of those handful of players that the college style was actually holding him back. Where his skill set may be better suited for the NBA.

The summer league is against - well - summer league competition, so hopefully you are right after all that it is a good sign. You make another good point about the "next level" types. One person named Jordan comes to mind that the nba game fit him better than the college game. Lets hope this translates to Whites game as well. If he is really that good, why wouldnt he have been a higher draft pick though. Im definately excited about his "upside". Maybe he turns out to be the sleeper of all sleepers.

Didn't watch him in college, but he was pretty aggressive in summer league.

    Normal disclaimers apply.

Yeah, that Palace brawl really did ruin the NBA image.

That was my point even back then when the hyperboles flowed like water. All you had was fans emulating all the crap they'd been watching on the court for the last 15 years (and really it was often worse before then).

And after seeing Rik, Reggie and Al (and Detlef's punches with Ewing didn't make the cut) I realize now what people mean when they call the current Pacers "thugs".

I also loved being reminded of how undiplomatic it was to salute this year at the WBC...far better to just mix it up during international play ala Vinsanity.

Sheesh. Those vids put a lot of perspective on the good old days and just how "out of control" things are now. Bring back the harmony that was Celtics-Lakers.

Back on topic, while I see White as a 1-2, I can see him playing some 2-3 with Daniels as the other 2-3 and then being on the receiving end of some of the alley-oops we see in SarJas' Maccabi highlights.

I've watched most of these before, but its still impressive. On at least one dunk he's got 3-4 inches of his head above the rim. His head. He's easily making some of those true FT line dunks too.

Thanks for posting those youtube links - truly spectacular is all I can say.

I can see White becoming one of the Pacer's greatest artistic (as opposed
to power) dunkers ever if he sticks around for a while and pursues it. Right
now I'd have to say Hillman and Stansbury are the top 2, but I never saw
either one of them pull off some of this stuff White can do.

As for NBA brawls, does anyone remember that Pacers/Celtics game when
John Long went after Carlisle? That one got pretty intense for a moment.
