When I first saw him years ago I thought he was corny as h#ll & I just basically wanted to hate the show. But I couldn't help myself the more I watched the more I liked both the show & him. His zest for life just came through on TV like few other peoples have. Heck I even watched the movie he made.

This is a sad sad day.

I have to admit his death has really upset me considerably. I never realized that he was in fact an idol for me. I think a big reason I did was that zest for life Peck described. The optimism. The passion. The caring. The love.

This made me think of his ESPN commercial when he tackles the mascot for the Florida Gators. It is really sad this happened, he was fum to watch and just seemed like a great guy.

    Stingray City?
Nah - Aruba. Took a catamaran (sp?) snorkeled around a shipwreck (& a couple other places) - pretty cool.

I'm exactly in your boat. Everything you said sums up my feelings.

The world lost one more good person who actually cared. It's really sad. It's kind of making me depressed.

And there it is. Investigation over.

I can't imagine what it would be like to be his wife or his child and know this footage is out there. Horrible.

    Godspeed, Crock Hunter.

Well, it's not exactly "out there."

The police have a copy and I assume whoever was producing the documentary, which sounds like it was his regular crew. I can't imagine it'll ever get out unless some scumbag working at the PD decides to make himself a quick million.

Not really what I meant, but you bring up a good point.

If there was footage of your loved one dying, you are faced with a choice: do I watch it or not? That's bad enough.

The footage going public would be a whole other ballgame.

I've been mulling this over all day. Today the world truly lost a man with a zest for life and that in itself is sad. I have mad respect for this man. He was a badass. The fact that he pulled the barb out before dying is pretty incredible if you ask me.

I think it's wrong, but the footage is "out there". I had friends telling me they saw it on the news.

    That's messed up.

I don't think his family would react the same as how others might regarding footage.

I'm guessing his family would be glad he died doing what he loves to do rather than getting shot in a car jacking or in a car wreck like the rest of us.

Gotcha. Easy choice for me - no way I'd watch it.

I think Steve would want us to watch. To celebrate the accuracy of the stingrays shot he put on him.

    What a beauty mate.

    What?!?!

Meaning he's probably not the type of guy who would hold this act against the animal.

He would view it as a natural reaction not to be feared or explained away.
