Default Pacers Digest Vote: #27 Power Forward

The goal of this project is to determine the general consensus on Pacers Digest of who the best players are at each position in the NBA: Center, Power Forward, Small Forward, Shooting Guard, and Point Guard.

However, do not worry about the positions. I have tried to put everyone at their proper position, but what I am trying to do here is vote for the best overall player, at the position I happened to put them. The objective of each poll is to determine the best player listed, not the best pure positional player.

This thread is to vote for the best remaining power forward in the NBA. You have 24 hours from the time this thread is posted to vote!

Once each position has 30 players ranked, the project will end, and a final tally will be posted in a new thread.

The top power forwards so far, as voted by Pacers Digest members, are:

    #1 Tim Duncan
    #2 Kevin Garnett
    #3 Dirk Nowitzki
    #4 Elton Brand
    #5 Jermaine O'Neal
    #6 Chris Bosh
    #7 Rasheed Wallace
    #8 Pau Gasol
    #9 Antawn Jamison
    #10 Al Harrington
    #11 Boris Diaw
    #12 Chris Webber
    #13 Emeka Okafor
    #14 Zach Randolph
    #15 Mehmet Okur
    #16 Kenyon Martin
    #17 David West
    #18 Charlie Villanueva
    #19 Carlos Boozer
    #20 Shareef Abdur-Rahim
    #21 Troy Murphy
    #22 Drew Gooden
    #23 Udonis Haslem
    #24 Antonio McDyess
    #25 Antoine Walker
    #26 Al Jefferson

Today's nominees* for best power forward remaining are:

    Kwame Brown
    Austin Croshere
    Channing Frye
    Robert Horry
    Juwan Howard
    Donyell Marshall
    Vladimir Radmanovic
    Cliff Robinson
    Kenny Thomas
    Tim Thomas
    Chris Wilcox

    * I can't please everyone with the position I put certain guys, so the way I see it is this:

If I've made such a colossal mistake, it can easily be corrected by you, the voter. How? I will always have "Other" as an option. All you have to do is vote for it, and state for the record in a reply which player you thought deserved the vote. If the majority of people do this, then that player will still win this poll. It just takes a little more effort then two clicks of the mouse. But if you're too lazy to do that, then you have no right to whine about it later.

1.) Al Jefferson should not be 26. Sorry. JMO.
2.) The PF positions is loaded.
3.) I'm going to take the guy who averaged 15.1 PPG, 6.3 RPG and over 2 threes/game while shooting at around a .40/.50/.80 clip while saving the Suns time and time again in the playoffs.

Also, I'd rate him as a better defender than all those guys left except maybe Rob Horry. And he is also the only guy on the list who can be in the low post and the perimeter effictively. Check the list. Who else can do that? Maybe Big Shot Bob. And that's doubtful and further, he can't do it to the extent TT can and certainly not at the pace of today's game (as seen in last year's playoffs).

Yup, Tim Thomas. I've been going TT since 18 or 19. How is contract year even relevant? He just proved how good he is and that he can produce at that level. So what if someone gives him a big contract and he doesn't reproduce those numbers. Bottom line, he did produce them and against stiff competition at the highest level. He gets my vote, easily.

Oh, and just in case you hadn't noticed, I'm going on a crusade to get some of this guys voted in. Oh yeah.

I count six guys I would rather have on there ahead of Croshere. And I, as a Pacer fan, naturally overrate Croshere.

    this is crazy, people.

It's not clear that Austin should be in the top 50!
The poster "pacertom" since this forum began (and before!). I changed my name here to "Slick Pinkham" in honor of the imaginary player That Bobby "Slick" Leonard picked late in the 1971 ABA draft (true story!)

Well, actually, it's top 30...or top 150, depending on how you look at it. Regardless, it's still a bit ridiculous.
