    Shaquille O'Neal on Monday announced that he has signed a five-year contract with Chinese shoe company Li-Ning, the Miami Herald reported on its Web site. O'Neal becomes the second NBA player to sign with Li-Ning, after former Heat teammate Damon Jones.

    This headline reminds me of the age old question: How many sweatshop workers does it take to make a pair of Shaq's shoes?

    American companies need to start observing fair labor laws in their factories abroad before our government tries to ram democracy down others' throats...was that too political for a sports forum?

    Who really wants Shaq's shoes though? He doesn't really fly like Jordan or the other dunkers and play makers who get shoes made...but neither does AI (not too often) or Sarunas either and they have shoes.
