Ladies and gentlemen, can I please have your attention. I've just been handed an urgent and horrifying news story. I need all of you, to stop what you're doing and listen.

    Ignore this thread.
Welcome to Pacers Digest! New around here? Here are three tips for making the forum a great place to talk about Pacers basketball.

    • Log in. Even if you want to read instead of post, it's helpful because it lets you:
    • Change your signature options. You can hide all signatures by choosing "Settings" (top right) then "General Settings" (middle left) and unchecking the box "Show Signatures" (in the "Thread Display Options" area).
    • Create an ignore list. I know it may seem unneighborly. But you're here to talk about the Pacers, not argue with someone who's just looking for an argument. Most of the regular users on here make use (at least occasionally) of the "Ignore" feature. Just go to "Settings" -> "Edit Ignore List" and add the names.

    Enjoy your time at PD!

    Ignore this thread.

That would depend on what your definition of Ignore is.

    Now I'm confused.

You're telling me to never ignore this thread, while Anthem said we should. Who should I listen to?

It's like a major dilamaba. Or was it dilembibi? I don't quite remember the word.

It's like a major dilamaba or dilembibi between dilamaba and dilembibi.

A thread is a symbol, as is the act of reading it. Symbols are given power by people. A symbol, in and of itself is powerless, but with enough people behind it, reading this thread can change the world.

    How to Ignore People
This article is marked as a stub. You can help wikiHow by improving it.

Follow these steps if you want to ignore someone. Ignoring people can be both good and bad--it depends on the person you want to ignore. Ignoring people that wish to assist you is only harming yourself.

    Steps
Think of a person you want to ignore. Focus your thoughts on all the reasons you don't want him or her as part of your life. Ignoring someone can be difficult and is the last step you should take, so your reasons must be firm.
Refrain from all communication with the person. Don't return calls, emails, text messages or letters.
Try to ignore him or her by not saying hello to him or her when you cross paths.
Manage your schedule so you don't come into contact with that person.
Change your phone number, email, and IM address, if necesary.
Enjoy the peace of knowing that person is not actively a part of your life.
Don't pay attention to the bitter remarks that the person makes.
Keep yourself busy with your own activities, maybe try to develop a new hobby just to get away from the person.
Never make eye contact with the person.

    Tips
If you ever come across this person in a shop or store, pretend you don't see them; use tunnel vision. Change your walking speed, stop, and turn irrationally. If they say something to you, tell them that you are in a rush and you really must go. If all else fails, just keep quiet.

    Warnings
If you decide to really ignore someone for a prolonged period, you must expect that he/she will never talk to you again and be okay with that.
Ignoring someone can cause feelings of deep animosity. Be aware that the person you're ignoring might potentially physically assault or try to harm you in response to your treatment, but most of the time if you will ignore someone it will be over. Walk away from them, do not ignore then and then try to confront them or even try to confront them at all let them come to you when they are ready again.
At some point, you might want to communicate with the person that you have decided to ignore and settle the argument. Remember this may not always be possible or reasonable and you don't have to. If it is a person that you have to work with or associate with then at some point you may have to, so be nice.
Don't fall for the other persons sweet talk. Stay strong and be confident.

Things to ignore when debugging an ASP.NET Hang - Update for .NET 2.0
I often get questions like "what is this thread doing?". A lot of the time it is about threads that are essential to the process but completely unrelated to the problem at hand.

A while back, in the beginnings of this blog, I wrote a post about what threads you can ignore so you can focus on what is important, and according to the blog stats, it turned out to be one of the most popular posts. Since then a lot of people have wanted to see an update for 2.0.

Rather than repeating the whole post I'll just show the ones that have a new look and feel... and if you are interested in finding out a bit more about what they are, check out the old post
