I don't think it would be funny, but one helluva accomplishment rather.

They've worked their whole lives just like members of the Pacers and Colts, they deserve a championship just like any other team in professional sports.

We've got a damn good team. I hope they do win it...maybe the Pacers, Hoosiers and Colts can follow suit?

It would be funny because they have only been in the league; what 3 years? The pacers and colts have been struggling for ever to get a title, and the fever grab one in 3 years it would be funny. I've only saw them play once this year, here at a vegas casino, I dropped 200 bucks on them just for fun and they won! So I'm a fan for life, lol I really needed the money at the time. lol

They aren't getting past Detroit. Not this year. The Shock are on a mission.

Aren't the Fever supposed to sign some all-star from the Connecticut team this offseason too? I read it in the star somewheres...

They've got my support. Them winning a championship has nothing to do with the Colts or Pacers.

    Nothing we didn't know already.

Beating them would be amazing. It's possible, but very tough.

    Agreed.

I try to make a few WNBA games a year. I wish I could do more. Unfortunately because of work this year I haven't made it to any at all.

The WNBA games are fun because those girls actaully ball. They aren't worried about making the flashy dunk, or showing off for the crowd. They don't get paid the big bucks like the NBA stars do, so they work their asses off unlike some of the spoiled NBA stars that half *** it on some nights.

That was fun to watch. I really like our chances this year.

How many break-out scores did they get, 100? Every missed shot, score by Cash...ugh.

The last regular season game is Sunday against the Chicago Sky. The Fever still have a chance of getting home court against Detroit in the first round.

    http://www.wnba.com/fever/news/Its_Playoff_Time.html

At this juncture, the equation is simple: a. If the Shock beat Connecticut, Detroit is the No. 2 seed. b. If the Fever lose to Chicago, Detroit is the No. 2 seed. c. If the Shock loses and the Fever win, a tie must be broken. If Phoenix wins one of its two remaining games to remain at .500 or above, Indiana wins all tiebreakers. If Phoenix loses both of its remaining games, Detroit wins the tiebreaker. For those seeking a further explanation, here it is:

In the event of a tie, the following tie-breaking procedures will be followed:
    (1) Head-to-head – series split 2-2
    (2) Record vs. teams in conference – Detroit is 13-6; Indiana is 12-7
    (3) Record vs. teams at or above .500 – Detroit is currently 10-9; Indiana is 11-9
    (4) Head-to-head point differential in season series – Indiana leads by 5
    (5) Coin flip

In the event of a tie, because Indiana trails by exactly one game both overall and against the East, tiebreaking scenarios automatically advance to the third tiebreaker because all games for both teams are also against the East.

The only way that Indiana can win a tiebreaker against the Shock is if Phoenix (currently 16-16) finishes .500 or above, thus owning a better record against teams at .500 or above. Detroit was 0-2 against the Mercury, while Indiana was 2-0 – thus significantly affecting records in the third tiebreaker. If Phoenix loses its final two games, it is removed from the tiebreaker formula and Detroit wins the tiebreaker.

Fever, Shock and Mercury Remaining Games:
    Indiana - 8/13 vs. Chicago
    Detroit - 8/13 vs. Connecticut
Phoenix - 8/12 at San Antonio; 8/13 vs. Sacramento

WNBA Playoffs Schedule – East / West:
    Aug. 17 - Game 1: (2/3) Detroit vs. (2/3) Indiana / (2) Sacramento at (3) TBD
    Aug. 18 - Game 1: (1) Connecticut at (4) Washington / (1) Los Angeles at (4) TBD
    Aug. 19 - Game 2: (2/3) Detroit vs. (2/3) Indiana / (3) TBD at (2) Sacramento
    Aug. 20 - Game 2: (4) Washington at (1) Connecticut / (4) TBD at (1) Los Angeles
Aug. 21 - Game 3: (2/3) Detroit vs. (2/3) Indiana, if necessary / (3) TBD at (2) Sacramento, if necessary
Aug. 22 - Game 3: (4) Washington at (1) Connecticut, if necessary / (4) TBD at (1) Los Angeles, if necessary
    Aug. 24, 26, 27 - Conference Finals
Aug. 30 to Sept. 9 - WNBA Finals

Well, we can't count on Connecticut to help us. It's evident they've shut down in anticipation of the playoffs.

Phoenix should beat SA, as long as Taurasi doesn't have an ego trip from Thursday.

If CT is smart they will do anything to help us. They're record against Detroit sucks this year. You'd think they'd do what they could to make sure they don't have to play them in the playoffs.

That's true. If they had their choice, I'm sure they'd much rather play us. But I don't think it really matters. Thanks to the playoff system, home court doesn't mean jack.

Detroit is playing Indy in round one no matter what happens. I doubt CT really cares much about who has home court advantage in round one....
