Default Ok, so here is MY master plan for the Pacers

My idea on how to remove problems, maximize potential for the upcoming year.

    1. I am going to assume that Harrington is coming to the Pacers for picks and is signed for the Trade Exception amount (7.6M).

    2. Complete the following trade:

    Indiana Trade Breakdown
    Outgoing

    Stephen Jackson
6-8 SG from Oak Hill Academy (HS)
    16.4 ppg, 3.9 rpg, 2.8 apg in 35.9 minutes

    Jamaal Tinsley
    6-3 PG from Iowa State
    9.3 ppg, 3.2 rpg, 5.0 apg in 26.7 minutes

    Jeff Foster
6-11 C from Southwest Texas State
    5.9 ppg, 9.1 rpg, 0.8 apg in 25.1 minutes

    Anthony Johnson
    6-3 PG from Charleston
    9.2 ppg, 2.2 rpg, 4.3 apg in 26.4 minutes

    Incoming

    Andre Miller
    6-2 PG from Utah
    13.7 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 8.2 apg in 35.9 minutes

    Eduardo Najera
    6-8 SF from Oklahoma
    5.4 ppg, 5.1 rpg, 0.8 apg in 22.7 minutes

    Jamaal Magloire
    6-11 C from Kentucky
    9.2 ppg, 9.5 rpg, 0.7 apg in 30.1 minutes
Change in team outlook: -12.5 ppg, +0.5 rpg, and -3.2 apg.

    Denver Trade Breakdown
    Outgoing

    Andre Miller
    6-2 PG from Utah
    13.7 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 8.2 apg in 35.9 minutes

    Eduardo Najera
    6-8 SF from Oklahoma
    5.4 ppg, 5.1 rpg, 0.8 apg in 22.7 minutes

    Incoming

    Stephen Jackson
6-8 SG from Oak Hill Academy (HS)
    16.4 ppg, 3.9 rpg, 2.8 apg in 35.9 minutes

    Anthony Johnson
    6-3 PG from Charleston
    9.2 ppg, 2.2 rpg, 4.3 apg in 26.4 minutes

    Maurice Williams
    6-1 PG from Alabama
    12.1 ppg, 2.5 rpg, 4.0 apg in 26.4 minutes
Change in team outlook: +18.6 ppg, -0.8 rpg, and +2.1 apg.

    Milwaukee Trade Breakdown
    Outgoing

    Jamaal Magloire
    6-11 C from Kentucky
    9.2 ppg, 9.5 rpg, 0.7 apg in 30.1 minutes

    Maurice Williams
    6-1 PG from Alabama
    12.1 ppg, 2.5 rpg, 4.0 apg in 26.4 minutes

    Incoming

    Jamaal Tinsley
    6-3 PG from Iowa State
    9.3 ppg, 3.2 rpg, 5.0 apg in 26.7 minutes

    Jeff Foster
6-11 C from Southwest Texas State
    5.9 ppg, 9.1 rpg, 0.8 apg in 25.1 minutes
Change in team outlook: -6.1 ppg, +0.3 rpg, and +1.1 apg.

    Successful Scenario
Due to Indiana, Denver, and Milwaukee being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Indiana, Denver, and Milwaukee had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Reasons - Gets a quality center in the east in Mags, a pass first Point who can shoot when needed in Miller and a defensive back-up in Najera. We get rid of the "problems of Tins and Jax" but have to give up AJ and Foster to accomplish this. It is some give and take from all teams but improves each team where they may need it. (the trade also works if najera is dropped and Mo Williams is sent to the Pacers directly).

    3. Sign Antonio Davis for the vets minimum (maybe just a touch more) to come home for two years and back up the PF and Center positions.

    4. Sign Keith Van Horn @3.5M (currently the suspected asking price) 1 or more years to be a shooter when needed ala Croshere.

    5. Resign Fred Jones for 3-4 years at @3.5M to be in the mix at Shooting Guard. (If this isn't possible then look to trade him to the Lakers for Mihm - though they would probably be overpaying for Fred then).

So, then where does that leave us (15 strong):

    Point - A.Miller, Sarunas j., O.Green
Shooting Guard - Daniels, Jones, White
Small Forward - Harrington, Granger, Najera
Power Forward - JO, Van Horn, Williams
Center - Magloire, Harrison, A. Davis

I love it for us, but I don't see Milwaukee doing it. Basically they trade Magloire for Foster, which I see them rejecting, then Mo Williams for Tinsley, which I also see them rejecting. What if Tinsley gets hurt? Charlie Bell is then their only point guard.

Bradley should have retired a long long time ago... T-Mac just sped up the process

Why is everyone in love with Magloire? He's gone in one year and he's slow and virtually ineffective in this new style. Also, he takes away critical minutes from Dave and Danny.
